The fact that the states insurance commision allowed an increase in rates means that the industry had to show data( financial and actuarial) giving it a compeling case to raise the rates. It's a regulated industry. One could get that info from any insurance commisioners office.

I don't like wearing my hearing aids because then I can't use them for an excuse in my selective hearing technique.


That sounds like an assumption to me. I think that's why Stlhd wanted hard data to prove that point. Me, I don't give a crap - I'm on "socialized" health care and loving it. But I sincerely feel sorry for the millions of Americans that can't afford health care or insurance. Not a good way to build a strong nation.

The skyrocketing malpractice premiums really have nothing to do with malpractice lawsuits and the insurance industry is unwilling to open it's books to prove that they are. The reason I brought the subject up is that I have read lately that this is heating up again and that some doctors have begun refusing treatment to trial lawyers.
