I coont remember which part of the constitution requires the president to create jobs? He can create the climate but cannot directly create jobs. We went through a false technology boom that busted just before 911. The two comined accoutn for the contraction of jobs. Had Bush not cut taxes it would be much worse. If you think the last 3 years have been bad economically get ready for the next 5 to 10. Whoever gets elected will have little control over what takes place globally.

TK,

It's impossible to explain private sector free market economic stimulis to people that want and expect the government and tax payer funded government programs to solve any and all domestic problems.

Government programs, in and of themselves aren't always the pork, wasteful thing that the right wingers portray. I can say that my wife (who was about to be laid off from a large aerospace company) was able to take part in the timber retraining bill and had her education paid for to be retrained as a nurse. There is an example of some of the good things that came from the Clinton Administration, beyond the tech boom. I am unaware of such a program offered by the Bush Administration.
