Several months ago, this noted northwest author gave one of the best presentations I've ever heard on the reasons why wild salmon runs should be rescued. He also gave plenty of reasons why the present Bush/Cheney administration should not be retained. The program was recorded on KUOW. What Hypocrisy yours . To restore wild runs It would mean killing all hatcheries yesterday and ban all fishing on all systems and restore riparian habitat until the wild runs are restored. Look at the economic impact and realities of that and name one politician with legitamcy that could push that through. The writing is on the wall and has been for decades . look at the downstream impact of human life on the wild fish and start removing those impacts one by one. Look at your own life and it's impact on wild fish there waterboy. I bet you have changed nothing but who you blame. The truth of the matter is that people come first and until we are gone the environment will be impacted we just get to pick and choose a little in the meantime.

They are on both sides of the isle and it is a shame that people cannot look at a bigger picture. too many people here say thier only issue is the environment. It's a feel good issue for them and they really know very little about it when quizzed. Like the issue above. Most people want to save wild fish but not if they have to give up bait, hatcheries, take and opportunity.
