The wifes research indicates my family moved here around 1890. Settled mostly around Centralia and Chehalis.

WA Native-- going back at least 4 generation on one side of my family tree.

I know there's a small Masonic grave site outside of Long Beach WA with a lot of my family tree name(s) on the tombstones dating back to the late 1800's.

Second generation in WA. But my great, great grandmother died on the Oregon Trail in 1856. And my granddad homesteade on the Nehalem river in 1890.

I can still remember my dad and his brothers talking about the salmon in the Nehelem
River in the very early 1900s.

Any interesting note, to me at least, is that the homesteaders did not eat steelhead. They thought they were scrap fish. Too skinny and stayed in the river too long.

My mothers family came to Idaho from Nebraska in the 1870's. My dads father came to Butte Montana from Ireland to work in the mines in the 1930's. My dad married my mom when he went to school at U of I in the 50's. No family left in Butte, everyone is in Idaho now.

Not a lot of people know that Butte Mt has a huge population of Irish. I used to go there on St Patricks day with my dad. I swear even the cops were drunk. Talking with my dad is pretty intresting. Old times in Butte were like the wild west but it was Irish and Indians instead of Cowboys and Indians. They were very poor when he was a kid. He tells me all the time if the world needed an enima, they would have to stick the hose in Butte Mt.

Fifth Generation on my dads side here on the westside.

Fourth or Fifth Generation on my moms side in Eastern Washington.

My Greatgreat Granddad Seavey used to go to the Territorial Legislature in Olympia from Port Townsend by an Indian Dugout Canoe. He was a bookkeeper at the Pope & Talbot Mill in both Port Gamble and Port Ludlow and moved to Port Townsend in 1852 to become the first school teacher here.

I'm the 4th generation here on my mom's side. I think my great-great grandpa moved to Seattle from Nebraska.
My dad came from the midwest via the military.
