Soden, If you wrote it, you said it.. crackheads and potheads are two totally different beings, as potheads have a conscience, whereas a crackhead does not.. You with 3 posts are obviously an authority on what should or should not be a topic on this board. As for myself, I will keep posting what I think I can, as long as I don't get kicked out by Bob, everlasting..... By the way, is Soden your way of saying SODDEN, as if you are soaked?. Inquiring minds want to know....P.S. Bob, I meant no insult, as you are BOB, EVERLASTING!!!!!!

Nookie,
You are too wordy for your own good. These boards are meant for discussing fishing and not your personal problems and friends with bad habbits. Now you are being personally insulting. Dont look to Bob "Everlasting" for moral support as I do not suspect he condones drug use and snagging. Your personal issues are none other than your own. I am not an advocate of anyone who does drugs or fishes illegally. Bottome line. You are not justified in your argument. What I witnessed was what it was. "Wrong". If that is the kind of people/fishermen you are friends with and support, then you are in the same boat. Stop looking up words in the dictionary and stop promoting drug addicts. This is a fishing discussion and not a drug abuse support group.

Hey all,
I only have early am time available to come fish. How important are the tides, and what should I aim for? Assuming not High and slack, but does it need to be dead low? My specialty is salt, this is new territory for me. Any info would be great!
K & P: I agree that there's an art and skill to knowing a true bite. My observation the other day was that 80% of the fishers out there were only flossing / outright snagging. My buddy and I mostly walked the ridge and watched the crowds. That one guy literally dropped his jig, waited 3 seconds, yanked hard, then moved over 3 feet and tried again until he covered the whole hole, then moved along. You can't tell me that guy was feeling any tap tap. Anyway, I've seen flossers pull in belly snags, fin snags and the lot. From the Baker River Sockeyes up to the Fraiser in BC. Same guys, same tackle. Not crying sour grapes, it's just a fact. Just as in life, there's always going to be cheaters and short cutters.

Hammer, you can catch fish really anytime, it's just a lot easier when the water is out and you can see the holes. Plus the fish don't fly through like they do on the high. . Any lower tide is good. I know I'm heading there early Wed. 'cuz the rain has been coming down good here at my house tonight, and the tide is low in the a.m. Looks like prime fishin' to me.

Was your line weighted and sitting on the bottom with the corkie floating just off of the bottom?

Why do people who fish for salmon with Corkies and yarn pretty much ALWAYS have to say "it was in the mouth" when they talk about their catch? You don't ever see bait or hardware fishermen qualify their catch that way? Do ya think they know somethin' that they're just not lettin' on about?

Saw the weekend war zone first hand this morning for the first time w/ my buddy. Must have been 150 cars and 300 people at 5:30am. Never seen anything like it. Must have seen 50 yarded out. 40 by the piling snaggers, and 10 by the egg guys near the bridge. Fun though. When I was leaving I showed an egg guy without a fish where to cast and he had one on in 14 seconds. Nice 24 pounder. Some chromes, but mostly pretty dark. Don't think I'll ever go back on a weekend though. Truely Bizarre experience.

There were a ton of people this weekend. I was fishing sort of close to the bridge with a float and eggs. I had 1 fish hit but when I set the hook he jumped and threw the hook. I pretty sure I am doing it the right way, but I don't know. I saw that guy Hammer, 1 cast and a fish. It was an interesting experiance, but still fun.

Lovetofish,
I think I saw you. Were you the only guy with the float near the bridge on the bar? I had a float going early on, but had more strikes with just an 18" leader with a glob of eggs. (By the four pilings near the bridge) I ran out of eggs, but made that guys day by telling him where to cast.
You're doing it right. You just need to get into a hole. Hooking up with bait is a touch thing, which is never the same. Hooking up with a floss is just pull hard and set the hook anywhere it hits. Keep the faith partner.
