KK,
"Veronica" says "Pump it up" and "Welcome to the Work Week" - Elvis Costello.
Here's my entry:
"To taste my bitter triumph... as a mad immortal man... nevermore shall I return..."

To me the lyrics are waaaay more thna 1/2 of what I like about a song. Some of the best just for the joy of imagining this conversation:
Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son" Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on" God say, "No." Abe say, "What?" God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but The next time you see me comin' you better run" Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"

I would have liked to see Hendrix do all of Dylans stuff. Hendrix studied Dylans music extensively and was said to carry his records in his personal luggage every where he went. Dylan commented on Hendrix' ability to play lead and rythm at the same time on a guitar strung upside down then play the same riff literally backwards and forwards perfectly as the most amazing thing he had ever seen.

TK: That Dylan bio was awesome wasnt it? He was a truly unique entertainer. At times he was amazingly arrogant then humble. For instance, he said he alswys knew he was destined for great things, but in the same breath said the Animals did a much better job of his songs that they covered than he did.
I saw an interview where he was asked where all those great lyrics came from and he said he didn't know, but whatever it was its gone now.

Yes it was good. He was touched by something for a while thats for sure. Interesting how it just goes away. I think it has to do with motivation. He wanted out of Hibbing and he had to make it once he left. Now he has everything he could want except the hunger that drove him. I think his legend is best seen in the effects he had on other artist. I liked the part about how he stole the records and the guy traked him down.

SQ: Them;s some awesome lyrics. I musta missed them. I loved Lonesome Cowboy Burt:
When I get off, I get plastered. I drink till I fall on the floor. Find me some communist ******* N’ stomp on his face till he don’t Move no more.
Come on in this place An’ I’ll buy you a taste. You can sit on my face. Where’s my waitress? Opal, you hot little *****!

On a warm San Franciscan night
Funny you picked that one I have been listening to the Animals the past week. I saw a bio with Eric Burden on it man he looks old.
"Young hearts can go their way Can't put it off another day I don't care what others say They say we don't listen anyway "
