I hate to tell you guys this but Methamphetamine IS legal if you get it from the doctor under the name Desoxyn. Remember the Scarsdale diet doctor that got killed by a patient? Yep, Desoxyn related.

Just about every bizarre murder and/or rape case in the news recently is meth related and I don't understand why it is only here, or if this is the only place we hear about these cases.

Is it a legality issue that drives insane SOB's to it, or does it create insane SOB's? (both?) You can buy Ectasy (sp?) over the counter in Holland and it is derived directly from Methamphetamine but I do not hear about all this bizarre crap happening there, can anybody tell me why?

As far as where to draw the line, I've long thought every drug should be legalized, up to and including heroin. And let the buyer beware. It would put the cartels of illegal drugs out of business overnight. And the DEA, etc. All the recreational drugs would be cheap enough that the so-called tweekers wouldn't have to rip off my car or stereo to support their habits.

However, when I think about having second thoughts about the drugs that may predispose someone to violent behavior, I reconsider that alcohol is legal. Drunk driving isn't. So maybe just legalize all drugs. If people make bad choices and choose drugs that make them psycho, and they misbehave, then POW! Natural and logical consequences are the fairest outcome possible. Darwinism at its finest, but I recognize that doesn't work for everyone.

Alcohol kills ten times as many people as illegal drugs do, so legalize them and tax them to pay for the treatment/funerals of those who have had enough.

Milton Friedman is a big proponent of legalization, as is the former Seattle Chief of Police who said why fight a losing battle. Aside from that I guess we will get a chance to see how well that works to lower crime rates; they are curently working to make Heroin available to junkies in Canada, and marijuana... well it might as well be legal they don't enforce it.

It is, it will put an opiate addict into immediate withdrawals; worked for a short time after college as Corrections Officer/Counselor, as such I distributed meds to the "residents" and had to know a bit about pharmaceuticals. Talwin (same as Talacen) was a safe one because of a low abuse/street value.
