Yeah - just logged on to catch this thread....You all are talking about munching on male sac and the nutritional value - right..??

I'll have to really work to explain to my wife that my online obsession is in no way obscene after tonight......

For all you clam and oyster lovers: Keep in mind that you are eating every part of that creatures anatomy. Everything, and that includes gonads.

I eat clams too but solid fish jiz? I think I'll pass.

You're right about those clams.

I think all the whitish fluffy stuff in the digger half of a razor clam is 'nads. Same thing with oysters. At least with the milt sacs, you aren't eating that dark green fecal gut trail that nobody cleans out of an oyster.

This could be the funniest thing I've ever read at PP. \:D \:D

Nadeaters, clam gonads..........I'm dyin' here. \:D

You know why you turn geoduck necks into clam fritters don't you? Because NO MAN is gonna eat something that looks that much like a pecker until it gets ground up first.

Funny you should mention clams, too. See, it's not the male anatomy of the clam that comes to mind when eating them......it's the female anatomy of a human that comes to mind. No mental struggle with that one. Give me another.

But fish gonads/jizz? Uh, no thank you. I just don't think I'll ever be hungry enough to try it. I mean, I'd have to chew off both my own hands before I'd be that hungry........and I just can't see that happening. \:D

Gotta agree with you Dan.

Didn't mean to hi-jack a serious thread on curing eggs, but this one has definitely taken on a life of its own.

Pretty hilarious stuff.

Oh man, this topic is outrageously entertaining and downright funnier than heck! It has been a long time since something has got me laughing like I am right now.

...I think I better stay away from this topic or I might spend the whole night thinking about milt and laughing my socks off.

Hey, what in the world are we laughing about? If caviar is so highly esteemed as an hors d'oeuvre, then why not milt too? Or how about milt to go with your caviar?

My favorite fish milt dish is hot & spicy Korean Pacific Cod Milt casserole!
Along with a bottle of cold So-Ju! \:D
Yum...yumm...
Hey Doc (FnP), Next time, I'm gonna try Salmon milt. I never tried that before.
I'm gonna compare the taste between Salmon milt and Pacific Cod Milt to see which fish has better flavor milt. \:D

Hey Summer-Run, post the recipe.... is it anything like Chinese Mah Poh (Mah Boh) Tofu? My wife makes the sauce with a favorite package mix... just add ground pork and tofu chunks. Milt sacs make a great substitute for the tofu.... same texture, but more flavor!

Not at all, Doc.
There is no meat in it except for chunks of cod milt and cooked in hot spicy Korean sauce covered with a lots of bean sprouts and green onions.
I don't have the recipe but it's called "Gon Ni Jim" in Korean.
I eat this dish at this Korean restaurant.
Hosoonyi Restaurant

I'll try to dig up a receipe on the internet.

Oh the guilt is to much for me to bear.....

All of the thrown away fish sacks, as if they were just so much garbage. "darn it's a buck"!

Four summer runs just last weekend. Think of the fresh camp snack I could have served.

I bet they would be good dripped in egg, dredged in flour, fried and served with bannana sauce.

Nothing worse than hunger coupled with a guilty conciense................

You guys are asking for it...

I bet you could skim the semi-solids from a waste water treament pond, "cook them in a hot spicy korean sauce and bury them in bean sprouts and lots of green onions" and make it passable.

But, would you eat that?

Ah yes, I remember as a child growing up on da Nort' shore. We would stop by ol' farmer McDonalds and he would make one of my favorite meals, a clam burger, large flies and a milt shake. MMMMMMM.

Ah yes, " cream of sum yung buk", an asian favorite.

No way would I ever get over the thought of piling a mouthful of buck jiz in. Fry it, bake, or blend it into a vanilla shake, it's all yours. If you see me at the cleaning table at KRC this summer Doc, you can certainly help yourself to any Sockeye sacs we have...

I am surprised this thread was resurrected. It was from a year ago. Someone must have actually done a seach for "milt." It was bad enough the first time.

Now someone just needs to revive the light bulb thread.
