There seems to be a common thread among many of us in the fishing community....and it's made of Hemp. Seriously, I'm just currious how many partake and how many are on the weed wagon. Here's a poll so everyone can remain anonomous.
4:20 Poll

I used to until shortly after our daughter was born. When a newborn has kept you up for a week straight the last thing you need is to make yourself all groggy and sleepy. That and getting pinched by the feds for it broke my habit.

16 years of sobriety = No drugs or alcohol. I don't have anything against it and think that all drugs should be legalize. It's more of a been there, done that, sort a thing. I earn a PHD in smokology, but quit the practice and took the shingle down. Now I'm addicted to clerity, spirituality, and living a balanced and healthy (nutrition) lifestyle. Just got back from a yoga class, sauna and Jacuzzi,.. which is my idea of a high theses days. Man do I feel great... and food taste just as good or better.

Quit after high school...got a lot more ambitious for some reason and finished college...I have gleaned this from observing a lot of people who let it get out of hand that if you have to smoke a bowl to get through the day, your problem ain't the drugs baby..it's your Sh!!ty and narcissist outlook on life.

The same as if you have to have that highball or two everyday...cept that's legal...Having said that...I'm gonna finish this drink

I hear ya. I lived in Eugene when my Dad was in Graduate school. Definately a "green" place to live.

Incidently, does anyone know how the term 4:20 got associated with the activity? NOFISH was looking at me a little funny last night, as he's known me to be a devout 5:30 man.

I never did in high school and got crappy grades. Began in college and got great grades. I vaguely remember my senior year. In Ellensburg, back in the day, you could sit down in any college tavern and immediately be handed a joint.

I do think that excess bakedness can cause memory loss. Excuse me, what's you name again? Oh, only kidding honey. The good news is, now I can hide my own Easter eggs.

Did some doobie back in college nearly 30 years ago. My roommate's good ole Snohomish homegrown. He threw some seeds in an abandoned cow pasture and in a few months it took a chainsaw to cut down the plant. I thought it was Christmas when he walked through the dorm door with a six foot tree. After that, no more, just tequila and a good cigar.

I did it in high school and got shi%%y grades. I did it in college and got awesome grades. I believe managing the use of Mary Jane responcibly requires maturity, and kids don't have it.

In reality I smoke relatively little. I enjoy achieving the "suggestion of a high" vs getting so baked I can't function. Again, moderation is the key.

Extensive research has shown that canabus only affects short term memory, I.E., memory inputs under the influence. There is no data to indicate long term memory is negitively affected. So, if you are in school or have to fucntion at a high performance level (you do something other than did ditches for a living), it's an activity best left for after hours.

Why am I always the last one to know? I've never heard it called 4:20 until I read this thread. And I'm class of '67; I didn't know anyone in my age group existed who didn't use, or at least try, pot.

Goinfishin,

I don't cry over the pot and other drugs seized by the gov't. I'm just disgusted at the billions of public $ flushed down the toilet in the gov't's misguided "war on drugs" whose greatest accomplishment is making the drug trade a lucrative business. Make me dictator for a day and I'll reduce the crime rate by more than half by legalizing all drugs. Unfortunately we'd have to provide vocational retraining for DEA and other narc enforcement along with the drug cartels.

Not wanting to rant, I best stop here . . .

Ok...I stand corrected:

I was close though- The RCW for less than 40 grams is 69.50.401. I should know that, huh? Reminds of a time I was at a conference out of town and was driving the county car. Went to a movie. When I got out, the little skater bastads had etched 420 in rather bold letters down the front qtr panel. It was a great converstion piece until I got a new one.

I drink now and then, but if I had the choice I'd swap the law around so that booze was the forbidden fruit. Amazing how liquor really brings out those great charitable Christian ideals, like beating your spouse until blood comes out of her ears, using the buckle end of a belt to beat your 4 year old, like driving down the wrong side of the road and permanently crippling a young single father, or playing russian roulette. I've never smelled weed on any of those guys. Hmmm.

The only act of violence I've ever seen committed by someone who was stoned involved a knife, a stubborn package of vacumm wrapped polish sausages, and a stoners forehead.

"Dude you cut away from your face." I said.

"Ohhh man, I know. I wasn't thinking right. Maybe it was low blood sugar or something." He says to me with bloodshot eyes.

"Blood sugar? Is that what you young potheads call weed these days?" I say with a totally straight face. And he gets this worried look on his face.

"Is this like a car accident where you have to report it to the cops, just cause I hurt myself 'cause I was stoned"?

"No dude thats only in Canada".

"Ohhhh cool."
