OK rivers are blown and I'm tired of trolling for hours on the Big C so I thought I'd do some prep work for my April/May Spring Chinook Guide trips.... So I decided to sit down and tie up 5 leader rolls of 15 leaders each and before I knew it, I was done.... So I thought I'd time myself.... The fastest leader I tied was 14 seconds and my average time was 20 seconds a leader. That's tying the leaders with 15 wraps first then 5 wraps to finish with a 4 foot 15 pound test leader on a 4/0 hook. Can anyone top the 14 seconds?? Keith ![grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/grin.gif)

Are you a leader snob like Parker and bury the tag end under the wraps? ![wink ;\)](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/wink.gif)

Are you a leader snob like Parker and bury the tag end under the wraps? Yes, Parker learned that from me. Parker would bring leaders for the day and I'd get pissed because the tag was hanging out and I couldn't thread my shrimp on properly.. So he now ties leaders the right way......... Keith ![grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/grin.gif)

Then I'd give it prolly 20 seconds or so a leader now that parker drilled that one into my head and I've got the technique down... With an exposed tag end, prolly 10-12 seconds.. Roughly the amount of time it takes for JK's mom to load up her lip with copenhagen and lace up her army boots ![smile \:\)](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif)

I've never timed myself... but if I had the hook laying out and the leader material already cut to length and ready to go... 14 or 15 seconds sounds about right. Ohh yeah... I gotta be wearin' my reading glasses too or else I'm lookin' at a minute at least! ![grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/grin.gif)

Corey would so fire you at 14 seconds ![laugh \:D](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/laugh.gif) We've done up approx 25 rolls of 25 fully rigged leaders the last few days ... that means threading worms, making the mini-rags, tying yarn into the loops, etc. I'll get a pic later of the mountain that is starting to block the view of the boob tube!

I tie leaders like I fuc%: Slow and steady. Is that to prolong the experience or get the job done correctly?
