I leave the house with three and then wait until my fingers are frozen solid and I have a frozen snot hanging out my nose before I even try so it takes me about 5 min. I typically lose it on the first cast on the same snag and have to do it again.

B-run there are two of us who do that? What makes it worse is now I need reading glasses and forget them half the time. It is a thing of beauty frozen fingers, just trying to stab the leader through the eye of the hook. I would probably do it faster with my eyes closed

I'll bet Corey can tie an egg loop in 12 seconds flat with her tounge, maraschino cherry stem style with one arm tied behind her back.

Exactly the reason I opted to buy another DB instead of a sled. Sleds may be more popular here on this river, but the rushing around and racket from the engine tends to change the mood to one much less peaceful.

Catching fish from a DB taking it's time drifting down ther river are the "whip cream and cherries" on top of a totally peaceful day..

While you are flyfishing for bone fish this week I will be trying to tie eggloops. We are fishing next week and my crew insists That I for once bring my own leaders.

There may be a open seat from next wed thru sat.

I guess the easiest way to explain would be:

First holding the hook with the left hand insert the line into the hook eye. Only put the line in about 1/4 of an inch and then start your wraps over the top of it. By the time you've made 15 wraps (which is what I start with) and then your last 5 wraps to cinch the egg loop down you've covered what would have been the tag that sticks out. It works great for threading sand shrimp on or wrigging a whole or cut-plug herring as that tag end that typically sticks out is what tears the bait...

Make sense??
