A poster child for Ritalin. An "only child"...well it was obvious you didn't have any sisters as you really do not understand women. If you saw my younger sisters Merg you'd be all over it and they'd play you like a fiddle. Why? Because not only do they have the looks but they are about ten times smarter than you. But, I can't imagine a time in their lives when they would have given a guy like you the time of the day.
"kick her to the curb in the first five minutes i meet them"
hahahahaha. With your obvious arrogance either one of my sisters would leave you as a quivering mass of self-doubt jelly. My youngest one, having been in a lot of fitness magazines (not body builder stuff) would probably leave you a quivering bloody mass. BTW, she turned down A-Rods advances. How much chance do you think you'd have? Stay within your class, eventually breed and make more idiots.

Merg, I am a man of my word and said no more barbs coming from me... I am however happy as hell that someone else chose to step up and carry the torch. Reap what you sow...In the words of Abu.."later"!

Merg,
The simple fact is that age brings wisdom. I am happy for you that you are so wordly at such a young age but your bravado belies your immaturity. Most men really don't "grow up" until around 23-25 years old as life starts to show us really where we are in the grand scheme of things.
I seem to remember having the same "grasp" on life at your age enjoying life to its fullest with women, whiskey, and whatever came my way. I'll tell you what, I am glad I have learned humility and the ability to understand that I really don't know $hit, fishing ability, advanced degrees in school, relationships, et al. Life is chaotic, brutal, difficult and perplexing. But it comes with so many pluses as well which is why I guess we all keep slogging through it. Noone will ever have it all figured out which I think is why so many of us are trying to educate you with our replies.
Just stop and take some lessons from others that have walked where you have not. Put your boundless energy into fishing, reading, learning or whatever pursuits you enjoy that do not harm others. But please... just stop.
Good luck,
Terrapin

Merg, you should be a talk-show host. Just put an opinion out there and see how many people you can get to call you.

Hey Merg,
Well, this has gone way off topic, but that's par for this forum. I hope you don't tone it down; it wouldn't be you if you did. I think I misundestood you for an annoying little d!psh!t at first. Now I just think you're over full of the love of life. Nothing wrong with that. I think I understand that you understand that you don't know it all, but are just confident in what you think you do know. I like that attribute. And you're direct, and that rubs many people the wrong way. I see that as a problem ownership issue that isn't necessarily yours. And you have little or no discretion. Sometimes that is a problem, and sometimes it will be made to be your problem. But you'll catch on, cuz you've already demonstrated that you're not as dumb as a stump.
And if you leave the hahahahahaha at home, I could probably even stand you in my boat for a day if you take your Ritalin.
I'm glad meeting girls is as easy as breathing for you. Because this is the time in your life that you can really capitalize on it. Someday you'll be as old as I am, and you'll still be able to meet women perhaps even easier than breathing, and it'll be 'so what?' Older folks say that youth is wasted on the young. I'm glad to see that you're making what appears to be the best of it.

What Salmo G said. I wish you the best kid. We are a product of our experiences and you have very little experience at such a young age. keep on loving life, but never feel that it's just you that's running the show. You will eventually realize that there are many things in your life that you are powerless over. Always show your gratitude, but never in a cocky, bragging sort of way, because that doesn't work. For me, I am blessed and humbled that in spite of the mistakes I made in my youth, a guardian angel was there to light my path, even though at times things got dark and confusing. That's my experience and I'm not asking you to buy it, I am only sharing from the heart, and hope that it can make a positive difference in your life. That's the reality (confusing) in the world today, with it's critical mass of corrupt politics, corporate crime, disease, free range hate and the so called war on terror. With the lines being increasingly blurred between what's right and wrong, good or bad, we fined ourselves pulling straws, and trying to avoid the short one on a more frequent basis. Man, It's a jungle out there! Especially for the the youth and the unexperienced. Again, best of luck to ya, and may I suggest that you watch and follow the tail lights of those that are in front of you, because they have obviously been there, done that, and survived. I'm a lot like Jerry, in that as long as I realize I don't really know S.H.I.T, it keeps me humble, teachable and capable of learning. Just hope that this thread is useful, in that I find most are sincere and are really trying to contribute to a good kid. I also have a son about your age and I share the same with him. BTW, we fisherman tend to be that way most of the time, in our willingness to share, including the proper techniques that work best, or our bait of choose, gear reviews and suggestions, tide table and rabbit foot charts, etc. We willingly share information that may be helpful (excluding the rock we stand on, or our personal bank account info ), for fishing a hole, or when angling lifes daily offerings for keepers. It took a village of fishermen and women to raise and teach me in my youth, in addition to the abundance that my wonderful parents provided. That was truly a blessing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now leave the catching of sunglasses with your face to someone else. You have already out grown that kidstuff in this thread alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-prfAENSh2k

You bragged about how cool your GF was, posted pic's of her, and defended her as the exception in your response to Sol's doubts about her. However, before the thread is dead, you share how you had to dumped her for the predictable reasons that many of us (including Sol) Veterans had shared. Now I hope you can see the difference between Rookies and Vets. That's why you are now expected as a wet behind the ear Rookie, to carry a Veteran studs tackle bag, or make sandwiches, buy beer, spit shine his wader boots, etc.,if asked. In other words, when and wherever a PP Veteran stud is fishing or just making the scene, if they whip out your Bikini pic, you know it's time to bend over. I bet during your bragging, you never pictured yourself as Gay as a Male Bakini model, on a fishing board. In life S.H.I.T. happens fast! One day standing tall and upright, the next your bending over wearing a bikini. Just kidding around. Now you see what I ment about humility. A real world lesson that most can relate to. Been there done that! Good luck, and always be a sponge for wisdom and knowlege.

Has the Merg been exposed? He always seemed like someone who could talk the talk, but can he walk the walk? Those who brag are the ones not getting any. The ones who don't are the ones that are, but are smart enough to keep their mouths shut. Well, Merg, it looks like after the Angling Angels fiasco, even your most ardent supporter(Vhawk) has decided you are nothing more than a loudmouth punk ass. When are you going to learn some humility? Are you even capable? Chances are you're not. By the way my son would still kick your ass.

Jake, how did you hear about the DeAngelo thing? Did Hohbomb say something. Dang that's just mean. Has the Merg been exposed? The ones who don't are the ones that are, but are smart enough to keep their mouths shut. He's young and loud, but nothing about him is either mean or selfish. And being young and overconfident is the perogative of those still in their twenties. Eventually life will kick him in the twig and berries like it does to the rest of us, so that when he's 35 he'll probably have just the right amount of confidence and humility. And he gets laid plenty enough. Maybe too much. I heard the neighbors complaining about the 'noise'. And lastly...I don't condone cock fights.
