Say goodbye to Chelan, until a later date....
Lots of sun, wind about every other day, a little darkening of the skin, a wide variety of fish, and good times. The worst year ever for mackinaw, although only a couple attempt, usually that;s what we do and we get plenty, this year was kind of a bust for some reason. The smallies are deeper than normal, lots directly in front of the Caravelle, out to just where you can barely see the bottom. Never made it out walleye fishing either, so guess I'll have to do that another time. This was the year of the kids, it's the age I guess. Gotta love it while it lasts, and hopefully it will always last and they will love the fishing and the watersports. Just to let ya know for anyone heading over there, tons of wood is making it's way down the lake. Right now the wall of debri is just up around the corner from Wapato, so soon it will be in the bottom end causing havoc on props and ski's.. A few nuetral bouyant stumps too so watch out. As I said earlier, cops are out in force, and they are not shy about writing you up for anything. The ultimate family vacation, only thing missing was a chrome sided slab or a big old laker. Here is some pics...
The main smallie goods, twin tails were great, just ran out of them for a pic...
Doing they're thing..
The water at about 6 feet...
This is part of the reason why Chelan is awesome....depth, about 12 feet or so...
Flat water...
Where the excitement is
Bye Bye!
We didn't fish the last day, actually didn't do much the last day. Just hung out. I know, you want some hatch pics, another post, as long as the powers that be approve.
