One of the long-time posters to a bowhunting site I hang out on has "met" the girl of his dreams..he thinks.

He met her via some on-line "Meet the PERFECT Woman" kinda site...but most of think he is getting flamboozled. Sad part is, he *thinks* he is totally in love with this gal, and she is in Belgium (or Germany or somewhere in Europe).

Prob I am having is I HAVE SEEN this pic before...just can't recall where..



He is blind in love right now (and no kid either) and we are concerned she is going to start asking for him to send $$$ to her.

They have "known" each other for 3 weeks now...and he is thinking marriage.

Any serious assistance would be helpful, as we (his cumulative collection of mentally deranged pals) really don't want to see this guy take another slide down the long path to destruction.

If this guy is an archery pal of real concern to you, then you guys maybe oughta' consider an "intervention" of some kind. Anybody thinking marriage after 3 weeks, even if they've been in bed the entire 3 weeks, is nuts. If he hasn't even met her in person and thinks he's in love, he's beyond stupid. Talk to him about infatuation. If he's still infatuated with her after knowing her for 2 years, and spending most of that time together in person, then maybe think about marriage. He sounds to be so off course, he might be beyond anybody's ability to help.

Its a scam! Its probably some dude from Kenia posing as this hot chick. He/She will eventually start asking for personal info or for him to do favors for him/her since she is living outside the country. There was something on date line a while back about this. See how many web sites that search produces. Next, type in one of the names of the girls you mentioned. Compare the number of web sites using the girl's name to the other two searches. Next, go to eBay and put your favorite color into the search. See how many of the items you would actually buy.

I wasn't saying gems do not exist on the Internet. The girls you mentioned are the rare finds. I was just saying that the majority is fluff, unentertaining or even malicious. If it's on the web and too good to be true, it usually is. If it isn't, it will have a physical manifestation that reflects it's web persona which can be verified by personal contact.

I made the error of marrying an "Internet Chic" a few years ago (2000). Some family members may remember my anguish and problems with that 8 month marriage..it was a nightmare unrivaled by anything Sci-Fi could ever produce.

If he does, he's every bit as stupid as Sol suggested, and has it coming to him. If he marries this broad or any, sooner than that, no matter how good she seems or is, even if she's a saint, he is perfect evidence of a flat learning curve. If he's gonna' be single, he also should make it a goal to date at least a half dozen women before he even thinks about getting remarried so that he has some frame of reference. Not to mention it's just plain smart and a bit of fun to play the field before settling down again.

Ok, this guy needs a torque wrench to tighten the lose screws. He wants to get married after only meeting her three weeks ago and without any serious face time. That is downright stupid. i agree with the rest of the folks. thing is, over seas in russia and a few other countries, men treat women like beating posts. i watched a special on the mail order/internet bride market. Smokin hot women that speak english just wanting a good guy. it went on to talk about how men and society treat them over there. Really odd. So they make videos, or post on the internet about themselves hoping they can find a good guy over seas. Pretty crazy.
