I hope he never plays in the NFL again. I'd like to see Godell ban him for life. I'm a dog lover and can't stand folks that do those things to animals.

On a side note, I read today were the Atlanta Humane Society has been receiving lots of donations of Vick's jersey. They have been using them to clean kennels.

First of all, I am tired of hearing this stuff over and over again. Can't go onto espn.com to check scores without seeing anything related to the Vick case....

It's just like the Anna Nicole Smith stuff all over again. Nonstop coverage for something that is forgotten a few months later. I mean I go to the tv, turn on ESPN, and the Michael Vick case stuff announcing he's pleading guilty is on. Change the channel to ESPN 2, same stuff....

Vick's NFL career is toast but he could return to football in the CFL. He must be a bit short on brains to risk a multi million $ football career and the product endorsements to raise muts for fighting. I wonder if his basket ball skills are good enough to get him a spot with the Jail Blazer in Portland? They have more convicted fellons than any other NBA team. He just may fit right in.

Vick WILL return to the NFL, unless Goodell explicitly prohibits him from doing that. If Goodell tries it the NFLPA will go nuts, and because of that my guess is Goodell will say: "We will leave this up to the courts, and judicial system, once Mr. Vick as re-paid his debt to society, the NFL cannot stand in his way of his source of income." You have to remember there are guys who have killed people (DUI) beat their significant others, and had multitude other transgressions in that league.

After his stint in stripes, he will return to the NFL (saying he learned his lesson, he is sorry, he got counseling, he dropped is old crew, blah, blah, blah).

This is the NFL, played in the USA - Economics trump all, Talent trumps ethics, and touchdowns equal forgiveness.

There is going to be a GM who will grab him, probably for a steal after he gets out. He is one of the most physically gifted athletes on the planet, but mentally is f##cked up. Use him as a back up QB, and a Ranle El type player and fans will for give. This is the land of Homer Simpson.

Seen on ESPN where they were saying the prosecution was only going to recommend 12 months, and the reporter said that the judge has the final say, and if Vick gives enough info he could easily be parolled in less than 6 months. I bet he is back in the league by the 2009 season.
I mean the legal system is all screwed up, hell that lady from Tenn. served less than 70 days for murdering her husband. So maybe vick does 180 days (doesnt that equal like 3.5 years in dog years?).

The Falcons want the signing bonus, but the most they will get is about 3-5mil. They gave him a $30ish mill, signing bonus but transferred it all to a "roster bonus" which means he has to show up for those years. There was only one year left of the roster bonus so he only has to pay the pro-rated portion of it. This has a precedent in the Ashle Lelie (sp) case. The rest of Vick's contract is non-guaranteed (like all NFL contracts) so since he is not on the team he does not get that portion of the money.

I still think Vick will be back in the league after he gets out of jail. Goodell's only "real" issue he can boot him for is the illegal gambling. There is a chance that he goes after that, but the NFLPA will have some say in that, even though they have been quiet for now.
