Of all the people here it would be interesting to know what percentage voted. Many of the topics brought up here seem to end up as political issues. I know this does not seem like a fishing report but I am fishing.. they say typically less than half of the eligible voters do vote.

Who doesn't vote????

I have few real pet peeves, but not voting is one of them.

Love absentee voting. Done weeks ago.

I like to complain about politicans and voting gives me the right. It was too important a time not to vote, both locally with I-933, the Kitsap Co. commish race, etc and nationally.

Having worked in the elections/legislative arena for more than a decade voting is like breathing for me, reflexive.

Had to go to the county hq to pick up a building permit. The location was being used as a polling location. Going in and also on my return I saw a mother sitting with her young son showing him how to fill out the ballet.

It used to be that we would step behind the curtain and vote our own conscience.

Everyone who is a true patriot and loves America voted...the others, to put it bluntly, should now STFU and wait two years, vote, and then start complaining again.

You gotta vote...that's about all there is to it.

Got my haircut yesterday morning by a young lady who is not yet a citizen...she was jealous that I was on my way to the polls, and said she couldn't wait to get her citizenship so that she could start participating in the governance of her adopted country.

America...a great place to be a voter!

Fish on...

Todd

P.S. Am I a dying breed? I absolutely love going to the polls, marking my ballot, and feeding it myself into the vote counting machine...wouldn't miss it for the world.

Todd...

You hit it right on the head.

Your political affiliation is not the most important issue. The importance rests is in taking part in the process by voting.

On another note, it's sad, in my opinion, that so many people, including many on this board, are so polarized in their politics. Our system was built on compromise between the parties. Checks and balances if you will. The "Left Wing Liberals" vs "Right Wing Conservatives" approach has never and will never work effectively.

It is unfortunate that so many discussions degrade into a name calling contest. Most of the time it appears more like a bunch of spoiled children agruing and calling each other names rather than what should be, rational adults discussing the issues.

I am a Republican. However I don't blindly support everything based on a policitcal affiliation. I like to think I am able analyze the issues and/or canidates and support the people and positions that I feel make sense for our country. I vote across party lines when I feel it is the right thing to do.

Have the Republicans made serious mistakes during their time in power? Damn straight they have and now the power has shifted because people voted.

It is my sincere hope, as it has been for years, that some sort of Bipartisan cooperation will rise from the ashes and decisions will be made based on whats best for the country and not the individuals or the parties involved.

Big Daddy, you are right on. My former boss was in office for twenty years and he never played to one side. In fact he said if you wern't making your party mad from time to time you wern't doing your job (or something along these lines). Unfortunatly there are very few like him today.

I feel lucky to have worked for someone like that.
