I love it when you spend all f'ing morning trolling around the salt in September and you are about ready to pack it in and your not paying attention to your lines on the DR but all of a sudden you just hear some drag screaming and you turn around to a nice silver already doing the jumps a 100 feet behind the boat and your pole going crazy in the rodholder...

I love it when you got with two dudes out in a driftboat in the sideways pouring down 34 degree sleet...and not only does one of them utterly screw his Shimano by hitting the gunwale with a spoon on the cast, but between him and the other guy they have $1500.00 worth of Shimano 300's, none of which work properly because they are all wet and cold.

The part I love about it is that I have $250 worth of Ambassadeurs, and all of them work just fine...the entire day...

In spite of the brutal weather, barbed banter, and lack of fresh steelhead, I still had a fun day...at least a few other fish were dumb enough to give us some tussle-ups...

I love it when my buddy is talken crap all the way to the river "Your not gonna catch diddly!!!" But then you get there and proceed to COON the crap out of the fish, and he gets nothing, cause he is on the beach pulling the rats nest out of his calcutta!!! Shoulda had a v-8!!!

I Love It When...

You are at the river where the biggest dickhead on the planet is trying to tell you that you suck at fishing and you are doing it all wrong. That is, unti you hook up in the drift that he has been going through all morning on the exact setup that you have just been told is not right.

When some fly fisherman who could hardly make a half assed roll cast comes up to you in the parking lot bitching to you about how much bait fishermen suck, you ask him for his fly rod proceed to cast the whole fly line out, hand it back to him, and leave him without words

i love it when i get out to the river, walk a half mile through pitch-black darkness, and find a drift boat anchored up in the spot i was gonna fish. and not only is he fishing my spot, his anchor is dropped right in the hole!

I love it when I have to take a leak out of the back of Bob's boat and look down to see that I've knocked the plug out and we're taking on water.

I love it when you go on a long drive to a river with your buddy driving, get to the river and before you've made a cast he's hooked up first cast. You watch him land it and start casting away thinking today's going to be good. On his second cast he hooks up again and limits out and wants to go home. True story.

I love it when you hike in to a run and fish you a$$ off for nothing and when you get back to your truck there is an indian with his net 3/4 of the way across the river trying to sell you a fish, or some tweaker has broken into your truck.

If he were more of a man he would have plugged the leak if you know what I mean.

The WDFW does an "Emergency Closure" for the lack of fish....and 10 days later the rivers choked w/ fish....DIQ HEADS

I love it when...

I get to a great drift and some guy is chest deep in the middle of the hole casting back against the bank I'm on because "waders are for wading"
