I love it when I pull over and re-tie the boondoggin rods, bait them, scent them, and generally get primed for the next run. Then within 3 seconds of each rig hitting the water they are snagged up and broke off. So I spend the prime part of the run, trying to quickly re-tie one of them to make another cast, which instantly breaks off upon hitting the water.

Your biggest steelhead trip of the year has been planned for over a year. You flight a thousand miles to your favorite little river to find the rivers completely punched. About that time your buddy who lives there fires off the great line......Should have been here last week. This also fits together with the call one week later about how great it is again. Love that!

I love it when I take someone out who is unfamiliar with downrigger, and I hear the downrigger free spooling followed by something like "Whoops, I think the cable is tangled"

....when you look back on shore to see what your fly is hung up on only to see a big orange General Practitioner stuck in the side of your dog.

I love it when my fly swings through the loaded spot, and there really is a fish there that time, and it takes solidly. The inverse of course is when the damn loaded spot is unloaded, which has become all too damn familiar.

I love it when you snagged up and snapped off and minutes later a steelhead is thrashing around trying to shed your setup. Happend to me several times. Doh!
