I love it when...

....you back the boat down the ramp, hurredly get out & wrestle it off the trailer, shaking the rig just enough to see the drivers door close, locked, engine running, tide coming in

.........some chowderhead is doing 48 mph in a 60 mph zone in the left hand lane, talking on the cell oblivious to the fact he's got 10 rigs on his ass who are ready to ram him off the road because he's been doing this for 10 miles and (the good part) they can't pass the jackass because the car in the righthand lane (Neil and Ethel who are in their 80's and can barely see over the wheel) is also doing 48 mph so these two Cliffords back everyone up to the point one asks themselves what they did to piss off the freeway gods.

I love it when...

You cast, have a take that is too quick to set on, reel in, rebait, cast and just when you are 3' from the "spot" some bozo casts over your line with a sh-tty cast with way too much lead on , starts reeling in, picking up your line and saying"sorry dude, my bad". True story.

... you float the upper section of the river when it is bone dry... in an aluminum drift boat... dragging it almost the entire day then not making it to the take out in time until finally after dragging the boat for 5 hours in the dark and pissing snow you make it to the takeout. Then the guy that told you the float is 7 miles really meant to say the float was more like 12 miles didn't even show up and fish that day.

then having to drive home in all the snow and not making it back home until 2am.

Streamer,

The fact that I heard that story firsthand from RS and you makes it even more funny to read it again...good thing you guys didn't catch anything that day...think how much harder it would have been to drag the boat if there were a few fish in it ;\)

Fish on...

Todd

dude, a pole is a person from poland and should not be used for fishing.

I just love it when people call fishing rods "poles".

I love it when.....

I've just slogged 75 yards upstream from the drift boat in a stiff knee deep current to drift fish the small slot above my buddy's drift then he looks at me & sez..."lets go gotta blow some water"

I love it when you've been working your ass off for a month straight and finally get 4 days off in a row to fish, and the rains come hard and the snow level leaps up to 5000' - totally phucking up all your plans.

Todd,

We caught fish and they were all released. Only a few though. At least we didn't get the goose egg.

I guess I also failed to mention that there was another individual who wasn't helping drag the boat around and who actually sat in the boat 95% of the time we were pulling it yakking away on his cell phone when there was service.

Having an additional 175lbs in the boat is much worse than a few steelhead.

Love it when u go to cast and ur hook gets caught on a tree and creates a nasty backlash, that pretty much pisses me off for about an hour. then im over it.

I love it when you clean the sled out the night after a fishing trip and then you get to the river the next morning and hook up with a real beauty chinook hen, biggest of the season, then you tell your buddy to get the net and he says, "WHAT NET".

I love it when you THINK 14 wipes is enough to get your ass sparkling clean.

And then, after you put your waders on, you find out you should have gone to 20.

I love it when you're not catching anything and you start mentioning how terrible it is and before you finish your sentence your rod tries to take off out of your hand as you hook the largest fish anyone seen that day on that particular piece of water (I've had it happen to me several times so I speak from experience ,lol)

... you're downrigging, and a 35 footer passes you, full out , 100 feet off to starboard, and a half hour later, you tow him in when he breaks down.

Since we were going to fish together several more times after that, I figgered you'd get your groove on eventually...you did...just remember, Sauk River and slinkies are like Rum and Coke...Sauk River and heavy lead is like water and oil!

That was pretty restrained, wasn't it? \:\)

Fish on...
