One question:

Are you going to have it "Parkerized?"

Period authentic blade, sling and cleaning kit are on order! ;\)

Steve - It's an M1 Garand. Built in 1955 and sent over on-loan to to the Greece Army. There is stayed until recently sent back to the US. Now, it's been sold to me.

A lot of the surplus 30-06 ammo you find these days are also out of Greece. Hence all the Greek comments. Greek, Greece, same, same. ;\)

The Ammo out of Greece *may* have corrosive primers, so just be sure to use an ammonia based solvent, or soap and water, to clean any parts that come in contact with the rounds, etc. ;\)

Bubba *or* Parker(ize) Ain't gonna touch this rifle. I couldn't live with myself if I "customized" this true beauty. She'll stay "as-is", thank you. ;\)

I hear you. An aquaintance found out I had a Swede Mauser he offered me $500 for it on the spot, I was going ahead with it since I had bought it for a song, when he piped up and started saying how he was going to tap scope mount holes onto the receiver and put a plastic stock onto it. Deal ended then & there.

I made that mistake years ago. For some stupid reason, I really thought I wanted a Browning Citori and I found a dude who really wanted my pre-ban HK-91. I bought the 91 for $500 new. Later it traded it to this dude for the $1500 shotgun. I actually made the gun by the Citori new, than traded with him.

Anyways, the HK was a dead on killer at 200 yards with open sights. As fast as you could squeeze the trigger, you could hit a silver dollar all day long at 200 yards. It was a real shooters shooter.

After the trade, the dude than proceeded to bondo up the HK and did a bunch of stupid crap like that. Totally mauled that HK. \:\(

I see now that pre-ban HK-91 starts about $2000 and only goes up from there!

Some guns I wish I had kept. That was one of them.
