I know from previous posts alot of you dont care either way but I have been a Sonics fan through good and bad since I was a kid. Does anyone think that the law suit by Mr Starbucks against Clay Bennet will make a diiference or is Seattle gonna lose the Sonics anyway. Just curious to see what those who are Sonics fans think.-TBJ

Yep, that is the big suit that we want to root like hell for winning as it is getting clearer each day that "good faith" was one of the last thing bennett and his boys had in mind when they bought the team. Whether you go to games or even like the Sonics those fin hillbillies are trying to steal our team and need to be beat down in court first then by Ballmer and his crew at the end. Cheers

Whether you go to games or even like the Sonics those fin hillbillies are trying to steal our team and need to be beat down in court first then by Ballmer and his crew at the end. Cheers David Stern needs to be a part of that beatdown...What good has he done for the league? He's shafting Seattle out of a team cause he's bed-buddies with Clay Bennett... The Sonics are the only professional team to win it all in Seattle. I'll be darn frustrated if they leave. More and more emails are being exposed and I read about every Sonics article that comes out of ESPN.com... With the newest articles that came out and the talk around them, it's been said that Schultz has a 60% chance of getting the team back. Even if he gets it back, I'll be pissed at the dude for selling it to the wrong guy in the first place. I guess at this point I wouldn't mind having Schultz being that goofy owner sitting courtside at the Key jumping and cheering like crazy every game...I'd just like to see them stay... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3365972

Schultz is trying to gain back some respect he lost...however...what may happen is we keep the Sonics and OK get's a new franchise. Why? Because the NBA does not want details of their monopolistic practices dragged out in court. But, I have felt for many years that the NBA is dying a slow death as it should be. A tactic of all three pro sports is to leave a major market open without a team so they can blackmail tax payers with the threat of a move. It get's old and cities need to start working in collusion, just as the leagues do, and put their foot down.

Shultz wouldn't get the team back it would be held in trust by the court until "someone with intentions of keeping the team in seattle" would step and by the team.

Letting Nate McMillen leave was a big mistake. I suspected Bennett's intentions from the get go but knew that he was driving the team into the ground when he hire P.J. Carlisimo as coach. Worst coach ever.

Dosent the lawsuit only by us the two years left in the contract? They were talking about this on ESPN radio the other day and it sounded like we were going to lose the team no matter what. Also they talked about an owners meeting. I did not hear the outcome of that.

It would reverse the sale of the team because the deal wasn't bargained in good faith.

The various articles say that the law suit asks that the team be held in a trust until another group or individual who plans to keep the team in Seattle can buy the team. I hope it works. A few more draft picks and a couple key veteran players will accent Greene and Durant nicely in the future. Oh, and as stated earlier Dump Carlisemo. Maybe Latrel Sprewell can come up here and choke him again.-T

It would reverse the sale of the team because the deal wasn't bargained in good faith. If the suit goes through in our favor. Dose the ownership go back to the original owner or does the team franchise go on the biding block? There's 2 suits J-7. The suit filed by the City of Seattle is to get the final two years left on the lease out of Bennet, or the team stays in Seattle for those 2 years prior to leaving. What the city wants is a settlement of all lost income from the two years. Then there is the suit filed by Schlutz (sic) that is trying to prove that Bennet did not act in good faith to keep the team in Seattle. There are a lot of ground, statements and crazy e-mails that the Okies made acting against them. Within 2 weeks of the purhcase the dumbest Okie, Aubrey McClendon sent a mass e-mail to the ownership group claiming they would rename the team the "Oklahoma City Sonic Boom". The suit is to hold the team in a trust until a new owner can be found. That part bothers me, because it would give Schultz, and the new ownership group, a lot more credibility if he had some skin in the game. I.e. he should have to hold the team until the new buyers came along, that would show he really cares, and is certain someone will step up to keep the team in Seattle. I can't see how the NBA would want to see it's dirty laundry aired out in the court room, but Stern is too thick headed to try and work a solution.

I hate basketball. Never been a fan at all, yet i can;t stand to see what the NBA is doing to the city. (not that the city hasnt been at fault) But the way the NBA is trying to steal the Sonics is just [censored]. What i hate the most is that the PBC has run this current team into the ground. I think Seattle needs a professional team in Key arena or that area in general. the seattle center is old and needs to be renovated. Having a team there is essential to the livelyhood of the area. Hopefully a major remodel of the area will happen along with the Sonics staying, but i they do go, i'd never want to have the NBA back after the way they have gone about this process. Bring on the NHL.

At this point... and since Bennet has said that the city of Seattle can keep the Supersonic name, past history and memorabilia... I say we let THIS team go to Oklahoma and get the New Orleans Hornets to come here next year and become the new Sonics! Chris Paul is a STUD!
Wishful thinking, I know.
Whatever happens I hope we have some incarnation of a Seattle Supersonics here. I've been a die-hard fan since Karl, Payton and Kemp first got here. This season sure has made it difficult to be a fan though.

Bring on the NHL. +1 They tried to blackmail the State of Washington into building them a Sports Palace that the team owners would make millions off of at taxpayer expense, a la Safeco Field and NASCAR's attempted robbery in Kitsap. The State called their bluff, and now they have to stick to their guns. Good Riddance, I say. Let that pack of crooks go to Oklahoma. I'm sick of supporting Millionaires with my taxes. It's bad enough with Halliburton.
