Jerry, if folks can't handle it, they don't have to read it...and like I've said a few times in the past two days, if you're dumb enough to make yourself a bed you don't like, that doesn't mean you're excused from lying in it...having others fight your battles for you when it gets too hot for you isn't part of "being a man", at least not the way I learned it.

Though I see nothing wrong with covering a guy's back sometimes. I've done that for people I don't even like when I think they are getting the shaft.

"Covering a guys back" is fine for the dude doing it...I respect that.

"Tucking tail and running" when you are the one being covered is not, and is not worthy of any respect at all.

I still think you should "park" aunty for a month or so when she hits 9999 (posts that is, not years). She can watch us all make fun of her for a few days and won't be able to call Todd a turd.

The light moderation on this site is what seperates it from the rest. In a good way. But, some of these pissing matches get way to personal and put our Moderators in a difficult position. It's like we're trying to see how far we can push it before things get shut down. Why can't people see that their actions (words) on this board affect the board as a whole and make others have to decide how best to handle the situation? Meaning, let's moderate ourselves just a bit better. That way this place can maintain it's personality without others stepping in to steer it in a direction none of us want to see it go in the first place.

At least half of the problem is not the folks participating in the stupid bashes...it's the non-participants burning bandwidth and energy whining about it...for post after post.
