I read an article not too long ago about the pac-car contests and was amazed to find that the world record for MPG was around 8,900 miles for one gallon of fuel. Three trips across the US on one gallon. Why can't Detroit get me a little better mileage out of the F-250? This new race gave the blue ribbon to a car that calculated around 5000 kilometers (12,600 miles).

Don't know about a happier medium, but I do know that 5000 kilometers is not 12,600 miles.

Sorry for trying to lead you astray eddie. The article stated 5,385 kilometers per liter (equivalent to 12,666 miles per gallon). Now I feel like a real jack*ss for trying to pull a fast one on you. Bet you got small letter grades in school, huh.
