Neither Bush or Cheney will be speaking at the Rep. Convention this week, and I can't imagine that there has been one single tear shed in the McCain camp...I mean, they have to invite them, since they are the nominal leaders of their party, but McCain would do well to distance himself so far from BushCorp. that people forget that they're both members of the same party...every one already knows that bullchit "maverick" title aside, the Repubs are putting up McSame...but it wouldn't help to make it that much more obvious by having Bush and Cheney speak.

Bush is in Texas looking in on emergency preparations, but I can't find where the hell Cheney is...he's just not going to speak.

Kind of a bummer, actually...I was really looking forward to watching McSame squirm while Bush was telling everyone what a great friend of his he is, and how they share the same vision, etc., etc.,...this storm, as catastrophic as it will likely be, is a pretty politically fortuitious for McSame.

Why not? The Dems put us thru Hillary, Bill and a list of other losers bemoaning the fact that the U.S. is so bad they can't find hardly any free benefits. But Obama says "help is coming!" "I'm going to tax the crap out of those rich bastards!"

The Dems really crack me up when they go off on how stupid Bush is. How does it feel to get beat not once, but twice by someone that stupid? How does that happen? It happens because the Dems keep putting up pieces of crap that can't even win their own states!

Back in the early 60s when I was in college, (yes I'm an old fart) I got invited to a young Democrat meeting in Vancouver. I went to see what it was all about and because the girl that invited me was hot! That turned out to be the only good thing that came out of the meeting. A bunch of wannabe hippees and yuppies sat around trying to see what kind of dirt they could find on the Republicans. I thought then, "geez you stupid a$$holes, how about coming up with some good candidates instead?" I never looked back.

And now it's damn near 50 years alter and you still do the same thing. "Quick google up some crap on Sarah Palin." Or if that doesn't work then MSU. "Yeah she must be --------- -------- ".

I've never voted party line but I refuse to call myself a Democrat ever! There's an old saying that goes, "roll around with pigs and your going to smell bad and get dirty".

Politics, politics, politics...

No matter what the topic it seems to stir the same results. Loud noises with little more than a scant reminence of feeling aside from anger. Although it is super fun to watch the cauldron stir, stir, stir. I think I said something along these lines a week or two ago. Only to have my mindless utterings confirmed a couple posts later. I wonder if it possible to talk politics without the anger part?

If McCain is the devil, Palin is his whore, then what is Obama? It is nice to hail the preferred candidate of your choice as the greatest choice to be made since the founding of this great country. But in the end we all get screwed in some way shape or form. The Republicans take money out of our pockets to fund bull$hit causes that were started by daddy or what not and the Dems take money out of our pockets to try and fix what the Repubs did. Which usually means the taxes go to different things and come from different places. We just get to get pissed off about it in whole new way that we haven't been pissed off about before. I do know one thing. I can pretty much count on the Dems pulling funding for Homeland defense. Which means our boys will be trying to work on even tighter budgets than they already have. With more extensions on the already well past middle aged assets, they will be expected to do more with less and do it better than they have in the past. Hopefully I am wrong. But we have seen it in the past.

So the folks who call any semi automatic rifle an "assault weapon" and scare the public by sensationalizing every bad thing that happens out there? The same folks (MSNBC) who essentially lead to the downfall of Bear Stearns by spreading a rumor that caused a run on an otherwise reasonably stable financial institution? Vanity Fair article on Bear Stearns (click me) We need to shoot a few of those folks down in the street to bring them in line and actually report THE WHOLE TRUTH, not just their slant on it.

I'm not listening to them (MSM) anymore. I'll go buy another gun this week, and continue building our house just to spite them. I refuse to treat them as main stream and let them try and rule my life.

After the Indy Mac failure, this same "MSM" was reporting that the maximum FDIC insurance that you could have was $100,000 in any single institution. Anybody want to guess what the real number is, say for a husband and wife with 2 kids, with no IRA's? Wanna guess who started the "run" on that financial institution? Main stream my ass.
