Old news...how 'bout your girl Palin saying that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went under because they were too bloated and were costing the American taxpayers too much money to keep running?

Last I checked, FM/FM are not government agencies, and didn't cost the taxpayers money until the bailout...but the fact that she doesn't know that doesn't really surprise me one bit.

She didn't say that Fannie/Freddie were costing taxpayers too much money to keep running....

She said that Fannie/Freddie were too big and too expensive to taxpayers. That doesn't mean she is saying taxpayers are keeping these companies running, but simply that the problems with Fannie/Freddie has resulted in more cost to those taxpayers that take out loans which were sold to Fannie/Freddie.

It's a pretty far stretch to think that Palin doesn't know that Fannie/Freddie were private companies before the bailout and now take over or whatever you want to call it.

It's not only not a stretch, it's exactly what she did think. Google it up for yourself, there are thousands of articles about it already...

I usually stay out of these types of discussions but to say that she was saying that taxpayers were keeping those companies running... at least from that clip that you had the link to... would be simply twisting words to make something out of nothing.

I am not saying that the Freddie/Fannie debacle is nothing, it has a huge impact on my very livelihood. Just wanted to clarify so as to not get my words mixed up.
