I asked Joe what he wanted to call this thing and he came up with the name.

Here's what I know so far. Allen Bar is being sold by the current owner and the deal is supposed to close sometime in Jan. I've talked to the current owner but have yet to find out if the new owner will be open to letting us host this event at that location. When I get confirmation on that I'll let everyone know.

Depending on when we have this thing, the Hoh may or may not even be open for fishing, however, it is centrally located so people could fish any of the OP rivers and not have to drive far after morning registration. I can't thing of a better place to host it so I hope Allen Bar pans out.

Fly and I have to sit down and work out some details, but this is what we've talked about so far. People will be required to sign in the morning of. At that time we will give each contestant a sticker of a given shape and color to put most likely on their fishing rod, and this sticker MUST be shown somewhere in both the lentgh and girth photos (tight frames taken with tape measure on fish) for a fish if it is to be considered for prizes. Also, while we will make this event open to everyone, we reserve the right to evoke the MF'r clause and boot anyone who acts out of line as determined by us. These people will also be banned from the event in the future, so be cool.

BTW: After hours will be BYOB. Be prepared for a BIG evening bon-fire and LOUD tunes. Bring a tent or camper to crash in on the bar (location pending)that evening and lets stay off the roads while intoxicated, ehhh.

P.S. By all indications, via emails, phone calls and the responce here on the board we are already looking at over a hundred people who want to attend. If someone from one of the Oregon boards would post a link to this thread I think we could easily see over 200 people in attendance this year. Joe and I will see if we can't get both Amato and Hogland up for the festivities.

This thing sounds like great fun. The logistics would be difficult for someone who is from far away, such as myself. But if you firm up a date, you just never know. How about a prize for the person who travels the farthest? Damn I need some local knowledge really badly... Would probably be worth it just to meet all of you problem children.

That`s away from the campfire dood. What you remember that?? Ya, there might be some cracker potential here. Definite lightweight. Will not enter Last Man Standing event. Hopefuly waterskiing will not be an available activity. Redemption is a long ways away. LOL

I will fly, if I can make it. If I do I'll owe you one, but first is the patron. I think they sell it by the gallon at Costco. Perhaps I will bring one of those as well.

What about Nolan Creek. That bar is a heck of alot longer and twice as wide as Allens. I haven't been in since the last high water so I don't know for sure what it looks like.

Last I heard you can't even get into Nolan's with a vehicle now...the last high water tore it up pretty good, and it wasn't exactly the nicest access road to begin with!

I believe access to Nolan bar is nil.. Who knows what could happen between now and then though.. hard one to say! There is always Minnie Peterson (If it's legal to stay overnight! Unsure of the detail on that one...)

unless Nolan really got F'd up I'd think you'd be ok. I used to drive in there with my Honda accord.

Minnie Peterson would be an awesome spot. Anyone know who I would ask about overnighting? The Parks Service? Private land owner?

Minnie's is DNR (Jeff. CO.) It would make a good site, as there are really two zones... the campground and the gravel bar. The Willoughby Crk. CG is nearby as well, although perhaps slightly outside of stumbling distance.

Pat Graham also suggested Richwine Bar....another killer location. I'll check into both.
