I'm sure you have already thought of this, but you might want to hand out flyers, or post some where on the camp grounds, on the how to handle these nates to measure and photograph. I for one am clueless being the total cracker that I am.

I've got TRBO booked for 3-31-07, so lets do it that weekend. Then will see if I can row Bob into a tourny winner in his own boat!!

Funny you should mention that. I was just going over a few of those points in this permit/rulz boondoggle. I still have to sit down with Fly but here are my thoughts on those two issues.

A rainout option is a good idea. Lets tentatively schedule Saturday March 24th as the day of the derby with the following weekend, Saturday March 31st as a fall back date in case the rivers get blown.

Guides are welcome to participate IF they pay and register like everyone else. Winners MUST catch their own fish. This means if clients fishing with a guide pay and register they are eligible to win if they catch, fight and play their own fish. Likewise with the guide. Plug caught fish will require both guide and angler to be participants for obvious reasons. I'll get back to you guys with a final list of rulz after this weekend. smile

BOB, aka TRBO...be AFRAID, VERY AFRAID!!!!!!!

Be sure to put flourescent labels on each oar designating it as RIGHT or LEFT, and also add arrows on each oar showing FORWARD and BACK directions. It is imperative that Chrome/22 gets some practice on the sticks BEFORE you hook-up on a fish.

If I do recall this correctly?????????

p.s. Brad: I KNOW with a few more "lessons" (aka beatings) from me I'm sure you would learn to row just fine.. beer

Just heard back from John Posey. Lamiglas is on board as our first offical sponsor, donating a couple of rods and misc. items to be given away as raffle items in exchange for putting their logo on our event tee-shirts.

Actually, to be loyal to those that step up first, we're gonna make Lamiglas our one and ONLY fishing rod sponsor. We'll go to work on Shimano and Okuma next. wink

Come on out, Mike. My boat is full but we can put you on a piece of water you should have no trouble with if you still have your DB. Put in up at Hyas Creek on the SF Calawah. laugh

Seriously, you are welcome as is anyone who doesn't drink as post event frivolity is not a prerequisite. smile

There should be plenty of bank opportunity as well, correct Tim? Or is this a boat only event?

People can plunk at Richwine all day for all we care. It should be noted, however, that this is a catch and release ONLY derby. Anyone who kills a native will be excluded from consideration in awards and will be banned from future events. smile

Haha.. Gotcha.. So I'll just gather up 15 of my best friends, I'll enter, and whoever's rod goes off, they'll let me grab it, and I'll split the pot with em? hehe.. I think the whole bank fishing deal will just have to be on the honor system?

I've got a suggestion.. What about limiting it to one or two available rods, and photos of the rod or reel in the fish pic with a fixed, tamper evident band on it with the gear still in the fishes mouth?

You might want to make a rule about the fish being legally hooked, or I'm liable to go snag one off of a redd... =)

I'm glad Posey came thru for us. Lamiglas has been absolutly top notch about supporting fishing in the NW. I will work on John to join us.

Shouldn't it be the Flysol derby? Naw, sounds too much like Lysol.

I think this will be a hoot. I'm twisting Nick's arm as we speak. I would think he would be all over this, as it has all the things he loves best . . well except for hot wild women,

P.S. John Posey - Lamiglas just told me he will attend, if the date doesn't conflict with a trade show.

He already told me he was coming. I'm working on Hogland. I figure we'll put those two in a boat together and see who's alive at the take-out. laugh

P.S. About Lamiglas. I sent them a broken rod last Thursday. They called me this Tuesday to say they had recieved it and the repaired rod would go out before Chrismas. Pretty damn good service.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Thanks for the welcome, Tim.

I'm not much of a bankie, but hopefully someone heading there with a DB will have an open seat for someone who can both fish, and row if needed.

As for the Calwah, I'll pass. I've heard it's awesome water, and while I might be able to muddle through it, I'll stick to not placing myself or friends in harm's way.

I actualy can handle a boat though, but know my limitations. Anyone who dumps their boat into any river on the OP they have never been on, and expects to have a bump/drowning free trip is foolish. Besides, I sold my boat a couple months ago (and yeah, I'm jonesing for another already!)
