King cafe but they're gone.
The Four Seas in China town is good.

Do you work Downtown RVW?
Four Seas is good, so is Jade Garden and Noble Court on the eastside.
There used to be a really good place in Georgetown called My Dad's Dim Sum but I think the son and father had a business dispute, the son assulted his father, ...and they shut down.

No I don't work downtown but used to.....EMT/Firefighter also worked some of the hospitals on pill hill.
Jade Garden IS also excellent.
Salty and soy sauce chicken along with real BBQ pork still brings a smile when lookin' for a quick fix.
That reminds me maybe I'll have little woman stop on her way home tonight.....

The Purple Dot and Sun Ya in China Town and The Great Wall down in Renton by Ikea. All of 'em pretty good but Sun Ya has kind of a funky smell when you first walk in (lots of roasted ducks hanging by the kitchen). Nobody here makes Dim Sum like in San Fran though, it all pales in comparison. Closest thing would be up in Vacouver.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I used to go to a place at about 145th and Aurora......little hole in the wall. They have a dish called ja jang myeon, or cha jang mein that was out of this world. Seafood, vegetables and mushrooms served on noodles with a sweet black bean paste sauce. If you're close with the name, they'll know what you're looking for. Awesome dish. Sorry......can't remember the name of the place........but I could take you there.

I love Ja Ja Mien (or however it is spelled). Thought I was the only white guy that eats it.
I used to eat at the Kau Kau all the time back inthe 80s. Great barbeque. I wonder if they are still serving the braised goat brains?

If you're in Victoria, Don Mee's, which has the tackiest neon sign on the street, has dim sum after midnight. Given the cheesey sign, I really didn't expect much but it was great. Of course, we'd been pounding beer at Swans before that so it may not be that great but my beer induced hunger didn't care. There's also a small place across street that sometimes has dungeness crab in black bean sauce that is killer.

In Seattle's international district.........Kau Kau for anything barbecued. You know how some places give you barbecued pork and the slices are dry and chewy? Not Kau Kau, sweet and tender with some fat for more flavor. Their duck is pretty good too.
