I hope all of you will go to this site and see what the Catholics have done to encourage their 67 million people on election day. They don't say how to vote but they sure do get their message across. The video is undeniably powerful as any conscious human will be moved. http://www.catholicvote.com/

They left out the part about having to pay all those millions of dollars because their Priests were boinking all the little boys. Life is sacred, family values, this coming from a church lead by child molesters?

I don't know anything about Catholic religion, but I doubt if child molesting is a big part of what they stand for...
If I see on the evening news that some guy takes a kid fishing, then molests him, should I assume this site is populated by a bunch of child molesters ?

If this site protected said molester, yes.
Or did you forget that the church actively protected chi-mos.......going as far as to move a chi-mo to another church so they could continue victimizing children?

I certainly have bad-mouthed the Catholic church in the past, and possibly wil again at some time in the future, but what you say, Oregon, is no doubt true. It's the "One bad apple ruins the barrel" syndrome.
The "Way Too Big Paintbrush" gets used whenever convenient far too often. Teachers, another icon of trust, have hit the news more than a couple of times for sexual exploitation as well. Shall we call all teachers names and condemn the lot?

Geez, Kevin....good catch. The message was plenty clear in its pro-life presentation anyway, but that ballot box scene spells it out. I missed it the first time, and the second.

The idea that one bad apple spoils the whole bunch is age old. I am pleased that most of the responses are civil. I have noticed that some are all for free speech as long as you are spewing the right , {err leftwing} liberal schpeel. With the illogical view that was taken by Free Spool this statement "American Soldiers kill people " could mean that all American Soldiers are bad which is ridiculous. I took the video at face value and didn't look for hidden messages. My take, Pray to save the unborn Americans and others in the world. It is very dangerous to be a FETUS in the Inner City these days. We live on the Left Coast I accept that. But could you lay off on the kids?

I have noticed that some are all for free speech as long as you are spewing the right , {err leftwing} liberal schpeel. WTF does that even mean? Are you not free to post your thoughts here? Or is it that you think you should get a free pass to post your thoughts without any opposition? Free speech is also about people attacking your ideas with their free speech.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that religions that want to venture into politics, even moving along the edges like in this video, ought to have their tax exempt status revoked. If they want the benefits of tax exemption, they ought to stay strictly on the faith side of the street, and "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" with no dabbling in the affairs of politics. Organized religion is becoming the scourge of religious faith. I couldn't agree more. It way to obvious that this video steps way over the line.

Figures her kid was knocked up before marriage, so was she................. That whole abstinence only, save yourself for marriage thing is often touted, rarely followed in the Palin family. As an aside; I read the interview of young Levi by the AP. Seems the lad has decided to drop out of high school to go work in the oil fields. What wonderful family values those surrounding the Palins exhibit.

Wow..... Chalk up yet one more reason to be ashamed of being Catholic. This is why I stopped going to mass. Its a sad state of affairs that churches are even allowed to "weigh in" on which candidate they'd like to see in office. What the religous right would ultimately like to see is our country being run as a theocracy, much like the old Taliban regime in the middle east. Religous views have no place in politics, and I honestly cant believe that there is a sizable faction of the population out there that would knowingly and willfully put a man in office who everyone knows is going to be bad for this country simply based on ONE, SINGLE, MORAL, RELIGOUSLY motivated issue. Seriously, ONE ISSUE! Think about the stupidity and ignorance of what you people are proposing we do!!!! You really want to put another Bush in office? Are you really willing to strike another blow against the blue collar working class family just because the man your voting for is pro life? What about our lives? What about this screwed up economy? Dont you all realize how asinine it is to elect a leader based on a couple of very "grey" moral issues? I guess its ok that the rich will continue to get richer and the poor will get poorer. The middle class will continue to shrink, and before you know it, we will all be forced to shop at Walmart for our groceries......... That's ok though, because we will still have our guns, the queers still wont be able to marry, and dammit, we beat those damn pro choicers up in Seattle....... Makes me want to cry.

I'll jump in on the unpopular side of the argument.
I think each and every church, religious order, mosque, temple should, from the pulpit, tell the congregation what their faith actually means and how they should live it.
It is then up to the individual to square their "faith" with their lives, which includes voting. Ultimately, they will have to answer for their choices to God, Yaweh, Allah.
In the US, we live a society that is (supposed to be) free of any specific religious code that is applied to all people. A person's individual faith is theirs, and theirs alone. Their preachers/priests/ministers/imans instruct them but it applies to their community. A faith, any faith, is totally bogus if it does lead to action. Being Christian, Jew, Moslem means being something; acting a certain way.
In college, somebody asked our group "If you were arrested and charged with being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" As a society, we need to be challenged to live up to our chosen dogma.
Government should be encouraging these discussions. Rather than the current sound-bites, we need some real dialogue. Rather than spin, we need true debate. We need the disussions out in the open.
