Though I'm a "reformed/recovering Republican" (meaning I am embarrassed at what Bushco helped do to our country) I won't be complaining tomorrow. I was not happy with either of the choices this year. I didn't vote for Obama but I'll give him a chance. It would be great if he proves me wrong.

It's going to be strange with the Dems in charge of both the Executive Branch and Congress.

We need to get back to what our party is all about. I hope they all get the boot and we can start with some new leadership. Get back to the orgins of the party instead of what they became after taking power.

If the Republicans truley embraced a more progressive social agenda and returned to their fiscally conservative roots, they'd be a force to be reckoned with.

This is their only hope.

In 94 the Republicans took control with their contract with America, after the Democrats had become corrupt and lost their way. The Republicans then became corrupt and lost their way and now they are on the way out. The Republicans deserve thier current situation.

I am beginning to think what this country needs is a viable third party.

Not an expert on this, but my Alaskan friend, who is an attorney, says she can only appoint someone to hold the office for 90 days, then an election must be called. Of course she could appoint herself and run at the end of 90 days. But I think that might even piss off her repug friends. The current rules were put in place when a repug, Senator, Murkowski, ran for governor, got the job and appointed his daughter as his senate replacement. Alaska politics is truly ugly.

I could deal with senator Plain. We have had dumber senators but seldom better looking.I can see myself dreaming about using her hair to clean up with. That’s more use than I have for most senators.
