Dixville a small town in New Hampshire just couted the votes 15 for Obama 6 for McCain. I am looking forward to waking up and seeing who's leading on the east coast.

Been watching the SNL show tonight, having a laugh. Tomorrow, regardless of who is elected, I will shed a tear.

On the upside, I'll go buy a new pistol tomorrow! My first .45 ACP. Might buy a few lowers as well. Screw the waiting period, I have a CPL.

It will be so nice when it is all over, and we don't have to listen to those BS ads on TV anymore, (for another 2 years). There ought'a be a law against those damned commercials.

we should do like the brits. they get some thing like six weeks to do their complaining. would be better than the two years or more we get.

I'm glad it will be over...and I like politics. The last two months, though, you can't get away from it.

I think that this was the first time that Dixville Notch went Democrat...a portent of things to come?

I think so.

Fish on...

P.S. Ron Paul got two write in votes!

At least I have that going for me (and you others out there)!

Sadly, I don't feel as optimistic as Carl Spackler did as to his ultimate demise.

And do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga...gunga -- gunga galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. Carl Spackler - Greenskeeper

Get ready for the 10,000 foot deep crevasse.

I'll be working on my shop tomorrow. I've got an electrical inspection!

Between Elections and Christmas this year, the possibilities of slitting my own wrists with a spoon just keep going up. I hate Christmas with a passion and the only thing I hate more than christmas is Elections!

Kimber? Getting a Kimber, right? wink

I'm proud of you Andy. thumbs Your first .45 ACP. Ah yes, I remember my first just like it was yesterday! Your stones have finally dropped and you're becoming a man! wink

Kimber. Just remember Kimber.....

Ok, now I'm jealous. I want a new Kimber today..... I haven't had any "strange" .45ACP in a long while. My old girl(s) are great, but there's something fun and exciting about getting some strange. I'd treat a new Kimber like it was suppose to be treated...

laugh

Although, knowing Andy, he's kinda in to those exotic Europeans. Maybe an HK???? Hmmmm.....you just can't go wrong with an HK, either. Tough choices!

Please tell!

Come on Parker. The Kimber is great (i have one) but you gotta love the feel of the HK. It just feels better in the hand and the grouping.......not to offend the kimber guys out there. grin

Andy, Parker,

So what do you do with a .45 ACP? Would this be one of the 5 pistols Denny Crane carries at all times for self defense?

What do I do with a .45ACP? Mostly they just stay in my gun safe, but sometimes they go for a ride with me in a nice leather holster in the small of my back. Also, sometimes they come out for a little target practice at the range. Break in to my house and you'll probably directly experience what I *would* do with a .45ACP.

If you're going to shoot someone in self defense, do it RIGHT the first time around. A .45ACP gets the job done. Not a big fan of 9mm or even .40's.

I'm all for Gun Control - A nice double tap, center of mass. That's gun control.

I've only seen the UTube Denny Crane clips. From what I've seen, I'd vote for the guy.

Parker,

An acquaintance here at the office who shots a lot told me that most people are sorely mistaken in their confidence in a hand gun for home self defense. That double tap in center mass is best achieved during an anxious moment by those who practice weekly. Even cops are notorious for burning up a lot of ammo without hitting the target during shootouts. Almost everyone who thinks he or she is a good shot isn't it turns out. Therefore he recommends a shotgun loaded with buckshot for home self defense. Usually the sound of the action loading the chamber causes bad guys to leave, and if it doesn't, aiming in their general direction puts a stop to their ambitions.

Ah, this has so much relevance to the election . . .

I practice a lot, so tap-tap isn't an issue. Already have the Dillon 1050 and 650 set up for .45 ACP. Loaded afew hundred thousand rounds of .45, shot a lot with friends guns, never had one. Always carried a .40 S&W.

Looking seriously at both the HK USP Compact, and the new HK 45. We'll see if somethiong jumps off of the shelf. Heading out now.

A friend has a Para-Ordinance P-12 he wants to sell. Only problem is, it isn't an LDA. I want double action.

I'll fess up when I get back. It has to be suppressor ready, which is why I am leaning HK.

Ended up getting a Springfield XD compact. 10 or 13 rounds, depending on which mag you choose, Came with 2 mags, and I get another 2 for free. Best part of all, was that it was half price, due to Cabela's bucks.

Maybe if I put enough stuff on my Cabela's card building the house, I can get a rifle that will soon be banned.
