Does the fact that Obama is half white and half african-american make him a halfrican american?? If Obama is half white, why can't I claim the white half? Or do African Americans (Damn I hate hyphenations) have exclusive rights to their favorite half of him??????  I know,I know.......

Was I unempathetic for the plight of "African Americans" by laughing at her joke? Seriously, they preach solidarity and equality yet the moment he was elected every black person being interviewed on TV made his win a racial issue by segregating his accievment from Presidents before him by way of his color. The issue of racisum and color is only going to go away when people quit differentiating between the two. The way I see it they want to draw a line in the sand and be the only ones who can step across it.
Ya'll need to lighten up a bit.
I was hoping you wouldn't take my comment personally, because it wasn't directed at you. I don't know if your laughter was unempathetic or not, but I wasn't trying to imply that it was. The "lighten up" bit wasn't a pun about skin color was it? (  -joke, tic)

Jerry - Obama's biological father was a Kenyan national... and as you know but Sarah Palin doesn't  ... Kenya is in Africa. His mother was a caucasion American citizen. The hyphenated term "African-American" is about as accurate as you can get when describing him.

I heard a ton of this stuff at work this week. Its getting old.
I can see the humor in any joke. Blacks, white trash, injuns.. its all good.
