I have the older model (18 months of hard use), works great has been wet, but not submerged. Still works great. Is only water resistant when all the ports have their covers on. The new ones look pretty much the same (I have one sitting on my desk).

I have the old G Z one and it has been all but submerged and subjected to lots of shock and dust and still works perfect. I love the flash the doubles as a flashlight, it has saved my a** several times in the dark.

Great phone, I use one for work (construction) before the G'z I was burning through a phone every couple of months. The new one is bomb proof, water, dust and, shock. The only complaint I have is the super short battery life, but that is because the speaker is super loud, the flash is bright, and the vibra mode is enough to get your g-friend off, no joke.

I have the GZ1 Drake has the boulder. They seem to be bullet proof. I am way hard on phones and do about 2100 min a month. I look forward to killing mine so I can get the boulder.

How do you do the flashlight trick???

The flash/flashlight is as bright as one of those key chain LED lights if not brighter. The camera seems pretty good too.
This thing is super waterproof, as long as you keep the ports closed, I dropped mine in a 3 foot deep puddle while it was ringing, picked it up and answered the call, and it's worked perfect ever since.

Ive had all 3 GZ one's. If I still had a working older one, I wouldnt be in a hurry to get the Boulder. The battery life is about half of the second gen GZ one and people complain that they can't hear me talking unless I'm holding it just right. On the upside, the speaker is way better on the Boulder and it is smaller and lighter than either of the earlier phones The electronic compass is 'over the top' cool.

It was a footing trench with a sump dug into it, I figured puddle was easier to understand.

Battery life on mine sucks. I've resorted to charging it most nights. If you do that you are fine.
Mine is a year and a half old. Still love the phone though. It's now taken a bath twice and works fine. Mine must be a newer model as it has bluethooth.

Pretty much every phone out there needs to be charged every night if you use it for text, camera, phone, and everything else.

Speaking of texting.....what the f is up with that? I hate texting....especially on that phone. You'd think all my buds were 13 year old japanese girls with the amt of texts I get.
A pic of your just caught fish....you bet.
A boob shot from the gf...down with that.
Rico thong shot. Yes yes yes.
Jonas babbling on whatever he's doing ok.
A paragraph asking if I want to go fishing or worse yet some kind of question? Not so much. Just dial the number folks!

yeah Dave, texting is stupid. some one has actually created an app that will convert text to speech for some phones, which begs the question, why didn't anyone just call and talk in the first place? our foster daughter averages about 1,500 a month, which isn't too bad compared to some kids, but we make her turn the phone off at the dinner table (trying to teach her some manners). think i'll send you a text on my lunch break..... doh

On my current phone, the battery will last 2 days. I don't spend alot of time on the phone. And live in a good coverage area.

The new model "looks" cool, but dosen't feel as sturdy as the old one.

The new model is "free" and my old phone is pretty beat up. It was smashed by the powerseat. Crunched it pretty good however it still works great.

Jason get the new free one. Works fine. Just charge at night.
Goddamn English Pete is now texting me Tourrettes Guy quotes.
Hey EP I'm going to be in Chico on July 17-19. Aunt and uncle live up in Magalia so I'll be passing through Paradise. Let's get out and run my dog for an hour or two.
Either that or a hike up in Bidwell Park to see the bikini hatch.

Email me, and I'll email back straight away.

Call me, and I'll call back asap.

Text me, and you'll never hear from me.
