Check out the barometer at Tatoosh
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/show_plot.php?station=ttiw1&meas=wdpr&uom=E

A friend says this might compare to a storm from 1921. "a friend who works for the PUD says they have been informed that this storm has the potential of the 1921 blowdown that nearly leveled everything out here"

I think since it's coming from the south, we're pretty safe, Brant.. I'm guessing we wont see much wind action until it shifts... smile

I'm in Edmonds and it's raining as hard as it can rain. It just started blowing like a mofo and the wind can't decide which way to come from. If I was in the midwest right now I'd be thinking TORNADO.

Camofish:

Blowing in Mt. Vernon????????????

We haven't had much more than a whisper here, and that light breeze has been from the NORTH, not the west as the weather dude predicted. hell, we even still got power!

When the wind comes from the south we are protected by a range of pretty good sized hills (high enough to get snow on them). If it comes from the west, it shoots straight up the Skagit Valley and we get slammed

Rain, OTOH, is coming down pretty heavy and has been all day. Over an inch so far since about 9:00 this AM.

Right before the start of the Seahawk game and my cable just went out. Strange because I have cable for the computer too and it's working fine.
I just switch from Dirctv because I hardly got to watch tv in November with all the heavy weather.
