i could just imagine some guy driving a contraption like that, wearing an old WW1 german spike helmet, eyepatch and an evil grin.

I know of one of those, but it isn't a drift boat, it is like a 14' aluminum vee. It really does fly too, the guy sits on top of the motor with a single hand control. The guy who runs it is an old coot. I've never seen him with anyone else.

Three pages later...am I the only one who looks at that pic and sees enough space to damn near take a drift boat through it sideways?

Fish on...

yes it seems like plenty of room, however if you take a closer look it looks as if the top branches behind the opening is where it gets blocked

I put in down below.....ran up to it......can do with the water up.....would not be able to do with the water down. It won't take much to make it "un-passable".....just my take on it.

Oh yes they should.......it's their right! Besides, everyone else does and as long as it gets them to their water; It's OK, no matter about the 125 other dudes trying to fish the area.....there's plenty of room. Besides, it's just sour grapes on the bankie and driftboaters part. If the water will float a 21 foot V.....bygod, it belongs there!

(sarcasm done) stir

Some asshat in a 18 or 21 super vee almost ran me over on the Hump about a month ago. Came around the corner, there I was, didn't slow down. He launched from a newer lifted white extended cab 4X4. If that's any of you, get "censored"! laugh

Nice.

I predict the Hump will become the next Wynoochee in the years ahead as far as sleds are concerned. Seems to be more and more of them spilling over to that watershed each year......just like they spilled over from the Cowlitz and Puget Sound area on the Nooch some years back.

Good times. beathead

they've been there for quite a while now(i know my father has been fishing it in his 16' sled since '91 or '92). as long as they're courteous i don't see a problem.

of course, i'm a bankie, and no-one gives a rat's ass about my opinion anyway.

Tell that to Rob and Nick as they both launched at WB and one of them was clear up to Carter Creek by 9 am yesterday...

To quote Rob "I've been fishing this river for 22 years and I keep the peace by only running up a couple miles up from White Bridge". That's fine and dandy until some jackwad that hasn't been running his sled there for 22 years see's Rob running his and thinks it's OK to bring his 22fter down from the Sky or over from the Cow and launch at White Bridge and run over a DB.

Nothing will change until someone gets killed. Any martyrs out there?

How about we fix the god dam hatchery program and get the nets out so we have some fish in other rivers besides the chehalis system and the OP. If the rivers around here had fish, I wouldnt need to own a sled.
