So price aside (which diamond back is around 1500 cheaper)

WHo has experience with the new Diamond back DBs ??? comparing the 16x54 and 17x60 to a willies..I know there are more willie owners but have heard rumor of good things from Diamond Back...

Anyone had the chance to row both and have a real thought?

Thankssssssssssssssssssssss

they are both nice boats, I've rowed both boats both 16x54 and the diamond back felt like a tank. Its gotta be a little heavier.

Diamond Back builds a nice boat.

I have rowed both, liked them both. But would buy a Willie if I was to choose.

I have rowed both and noticed nothing different between the two, I went through this same decision a year ago, Doug(if I remember right) who builds the diamondback will customize a nice boat for you. What it came down to for me was that I wanted my 17' DB to have the wider 60" bottom, which diamondback did not provide and the accessories were not as diverse as the willies. You can't go wrong with either make, just depends on what you want. Here is the link for diamondback DB:

I was looking at the 17x60 that Diamond back makes now but I dont need anything to crazy anymore just something that can have 2 guys up front and track to pull plugs like I need...the 16x54 should probably handle what I need.

Is it just me, or does a diamond back look exactly like a river wolf?

Willie... They have more experience with aluminum driftboats than anyone in the market except perhaps the original crew from Alumaweld and they were trained by Willie anyway..

Another one worth looking at is Riverwolf. They make a sweet boat and come with a better trailer. Don't fall for the aluminum trailer deal offered by North River and others. They aren't as strong.

I personally row a Willie and really enjoy it, it rows great. Although if I was going to buy a new boat, I would probably look into getting a Aluminum Hyde pro. They come standard with alot more features than both of those boats for around the same price. The only downside is they only come in a 16x55.
