2) Bush appoints the head of the FERC.
3) Kenny Lay and Enron (major donor to Bushes campaign) trying to corner the power grid.
4) FERC does nothing although the very job of the FERC is to do something.
5) My power bill goes from the cheapest in the state to the most expensive.

And it went on with the Justice dept, the FCC, the FDA, the EPA, FEMA, blah blah blah.

If you join the lamefishing board, you will be amongst a majority of members that share your views regarding the policies of the Bush adm. You will be welcomed and praised by a host of other Bush loyals and neocons over there. You will get to network with Skowacko ,aka Rory, and others in keeping that board safe from progressives that frequent this one. Over their, you can debate the agenda for a neocon comback in 2012. It's begin right after the November election for those guy's. To them Obama is already the worse president ever and they are mad as he!l. Just and idea. I watched the thing on the television. I was hoping for a bit *more* from the speech. I didn't vote for the guy but will fully support him.
Even though the speech didn't meet my expectations it was still pretty good. I think the country is ready for change...whatever that means.

I'll admit I felt a bit bad for GW. Dude had to sit in back and listen to his mistakes. I suppose all outgoing Presidents have to deal with the same thing.

It does sound like Bush is going out with class. I thought Clinton was a good President but when his staffers f'd up Air Force One and took the W characters off the keyboards in the White House I thought that was uncool.

I think people put a little too much stock in the speeches. That Obama is one hell of a speaker. But speeches don't do anything. They just linger in history books and determine how full of shiat or how much a man of his word he is. We'll see what happens. He does inspire a lot of hope in people and that counts for a lot with most folks.

I've read and heard some people say that the bar has been raised unreasonably high for Obama, that people may be expecting too much. Folks might expect too much, but I think the bar has never been lower than where Bush has left it - on the ground. No matter how badly Obama does, he couldn't possibly screw up our nation as badly as Bushco did over the last 8 years. If Obama tries even a little bit, I figure the US will be way ahead, and if he's really successful beyond my wildest expectations, his administration may even undo all the damage caused by Bushco.

Easy there Salmo. I would be happy with having a steady economy. Fixing all the problems, now that is going to take a while yet. Probably a couple of administrations. Assuming that the world isn't a smoking inferno or in a nuclear winter.
