A-rod can take his $252,000,000 and inject it. Junior will be a gamble for any team but the M's stand to benefit the most.

Not to mention injury prone. If KG had the work ethic of lets say Pete Rose or Nolan Ryan, he would have been possibly the best of all time.

Griffey to Seattle was last weeks big news.
It was all but done according to some in Seattle.
Come to find out he is also looking at Atlanta.
He is too old to play the OF everyday. He'd be a good DH though.

SD if Junior did not play so hard his career many have been extented a decade or so. The Express is my all time favorite pitcher who worked every four to five days. Junior is at the twilight of his playing days. Great move by the M's to bring him back.

I never get tired of watching that swing. I was at the game when Jr and his Father both hit home runs.

It will get me to attend a few games this summer vs none last year...good move all around IMO. The dude hit 30 bombs in 07, if we get that Griffey for a few million its all good and no matter what it will bring in $ and pub for the M's...he will be our first ever Hall of Famer and go in without being tainted by Roids like all the other tools of his generation. I hope he kicks ass, this town needs a good sports story...cheers

Why be pissed at Junior. He is just one of many pissed off by Howard Lincoln. At least he was honest about his intentions, unlike A-Fraud.
I look forward to seeing Griffey back at the house that he built.

I have mixed feelings about his return. The upside he will bring people to the ball park and he does have that sweet swing and a flair for a spectacular catches in the outfield. My concerns are that he is injury prone. Hopefully he has grown up, I remember hearing about his recliner chair in the clubhouse and it was all about him not the team attitude.

Yup, thought he was above practicing and working out and most say that's what led to his injuries. Also came out after he left that he was often a real problem in the clubhouse with other players and coaches. I relate it to when we signed Gaylord Perry or Griffey's dad. We know we are going to stink it up again this year and need a circus freak to sell tickets. Problem is Griffey and his dad tried to take over here. Then they tried the same thing in Cinci. I think dad lost the battle and was demoted to a scout. Yeah he has or had a sweet swing but if you get two strikes on him thow it in the dirt for strike three.

In the era when players (see ARod) chase the biggest $'s while proclaiming they want to win, when players (see ARod, Bonds, McGwire, etc.) are juicing and then denying - KG Jr. is a shining beacon. Left Seattle for less $'s to be closer to family, never even a hint of steroids. We foist the pressure of being a role model far too often on pro athletes, Jr. wears that pressure as well as any and better than most. Welcome back, may your sweet swing stay with you forever. I know the memory of it will stay with me forever.

For 2 mil and 2.5 in incentives, it's a steal after suffering through Sexson, Vidro and Cairo last year.

Sweet! Let's figure out how much Sexson's $50,000,000 came out to per strikeout.

I don't think Griffey is going to make a difference in the win loss column. He didn't bring the Reds any pennants. Norm Charleton helped the Reds win a championship with the nasty boys in 89. Maybe we should bring back Charleton, and Bobby Ayala again too.

Never thought I would say it. But we should get the old boys back together. A-Roids, Griffey, Visquel, huh? Whaddya say? Wouldn't that be fun. I for one am happy to see Griffey back. It was a smart move that will put butts in the seats for a little while atleast. All he has to do is hit a couple dingers and sign some autographs on the twilight tour of his career. The man can do no wrong virtually. Besides, can't get too much worse than last years fiasco. Nothing is worse than last years record coming out the third highest pay roll in baseball Except fo rmaybe, well, being the second or first highest pay roll and not making the playoffs.
Welcome back Griffey!

i was a bit bitter at seeing him leave right after he got his new stadium, but the way the team has gone since 2001, he doesn't sound so bad any more.

Griffey is always a more solid choice as long as he isn't injured. The gain is a little bit more than with Sexson as a result since Sexson is the streakiest player to ever put on a M's uni.

Glad he made it back, and for the first half of the season Jr will bring in fans to the seats, but when the M's are down 15 games at the break, I don't care who you have in the lineup, the luster wears off and the "Safe" will be at half full status once more. With M's Fans asking if we made the right decision again.????
