I just stumbled across this link to the pictures of the giant steelhead that have been posted here before. This time you can see all of them.

I counted 61 pics of it out of water. Maybe the Paparazzi coulda put down the camera and helped with the tape job to get it over with quicker? Who needs pics of the taping???

I'm sure it's just "resting":

Ouch:

And another ouch, but good thing he got the shot:

At least it wasn't bonked.

Kee-rist'o'deer that fish must have been wrassled around for four or five minutes. Not so hot on the handling technique.

The pics about 3/4 of the way though where he's in ten inches of water with the fish...that's about the closest that fish ever should have got to the beach...the one of it just lying there in a puddle makes it look like a dead chum.

Fish on...

Todd

Pretty heinous fish fondling. All they needed was the money shot, and they have a full layout for some fly-porn magazine.

Those big brutes are pretty tough, but holy christ that fish was out of the water for an eternity! Poor fish handling indeed.

Man, that sure takes a lot of the magic of the "money shot" away when you see all that garbage. I don't think I've ever taken more than a few shots of any given fish out of the water and usually those all occur within a few seconds. The only thing this does is prove to all the naysayers that the other shots that were first seen weren't photoshopped.

What a great how NOT to handle the catch and release of a precious resource. With all the measurement photos you would think that buck was getting fitted for a funeral tuxedo!
Nevermind........ he's resting.

Shitty fish handling skills, and even shittier hygiene.
Look at his dam beard, looks like he lives out in a cabin in the mountains. I bet you that fool hasn't showered in months.
That guy makes you look clean Todd.... wink

From the website....

"Steelhead, North America’s most sought after freshwater game fish, challenge even the most seasoned angler. At The Cliffs at Kispiox River, we hold these fish in high esteem and release them, unharmed and revived."

Suffice it to say I was much more impressed by the three pics I saw months ago...not quite as impressed anymore.

At least the fish is still magnificent, but the photo collection reminds me of the oft-repeated activities we see around here during the fall salmon season...not exactly the best recommendation for catch and release advocates.

Fish on...

Todd

Heck Todd, it only takes 9 seconds to land a humpy. The time saved fighting them can be added on to their beach time...... wink

I agree with others. A couple of quick pics and get them on their way.
