the todd like discussing the finer points of beer production with the brewer...the todd agrees that the industrial production of cheap beer has created huge tears in the very fabric of a civil and just society.

aunty m not sure why your thinking that mf and brewer are releated. mf you get that... ??? oh and by the way brewer finds marsha to being a royal hotty. when marsha goes glassy eyed, OH MAMA!!!!! brewer talks hop alphas and bittering units with her when ever possible.

marsha+tillas+hoptalk=schwing!

brewer spent today brewing a old classic. bert grant's scottish ale, how many remember the scottish ale? i live across the street from a home brewer that has a very impressive home brewing system. he actually has a conicle fermenter. he makes some burly beers, his pale is trully great and the ipa is the bomb! grows his own hops too on the side of his garage.

brewer is kinda shocked that the baker hasn't chimed in on this hot topic.

I loved that Scottish Ale at Grant's brew pub in Yakima; then I heard it closed a few years ago. Very sad. Good beer and good food. I have no reason to go to Yakima anymore.

Grant's really was a great place. I had the pleasure of meeting Bert a few times at several beer events. Ironic that Yakima is absent a good brew pub considering the amount of hops that come from that area. Ellensburg has a pretty decent little brewery--Iron Horse Brewery. When I go to Yak now I drink in Bob's Keg & Cork. They have three beer engines and the coolest apparatus for serving wine on tap. You can place any bottle you'd like in it. Two tubes go in the bottle; one pushes nitrous (I think) and the other runs to the tap.

I took the plunge a few years ago and invested in two 15 gallon stainless conical fermenters. I use converted Sanke kegs in my system to brew 10 gallon batches. I built a replication of an English pub in my basement to serve it all.

The Pelican Brew Pup in Pacific City makes some excellent beer.

Is the Brewer familiar with their brews?

Pretty good place to sit back and have a cold one while watching the Dories come in.

syko, yea brewer is familer with pelican pub. however have not been there though.

brewer worked under the ownership while bert was at the helm. he could have taken that brewery to siera nevada level if he would have gathered the proper people. instead he surrounded himself with goofballs, which opened the door someone like me to come in a become develope into the internet celeb you all know today.

eventually stimson lane bought it, they knew how to run wineries but had zero clue on how to market beer. beer and wine run on polar opposite marketing schemes. brewer bolted to bridgeport brewery during the skid that stimson lane put the grants brewery into. grants pub was popular a place to put a pint or two down.

Pelican always wins a medal or two at the GABF.

Next shindig at the Harley house is the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. So get your honey-dos done on Saturday, come party on Sunday, and recoup on Monday.

sunday i was involved in brewing up a 15 gallon batch of GSA. it's bubbling away vigorously as brewer posts this. the OG is 12.5 hopefully it should finish out at 5.4 FG.

brewer is rather bummed that there wasnt more "hatem" posts on this thread. i know darn well there are several that just loathe me. wheres the DV post? or the baker post? he's a real jerk! and that eye doctor guy, am surprised he failed to square off on brewer. espeacially after that post about the bass guy only having a head and a couple stubbins poking out. brewer's comments on "the head" having boxes of baitcasters with backlashes was classic. or wondering if head has difficulty getting waders to fit was trully tasteless. betcha brewer bonks a state record native there would some choice hatems posted huh?

Brewer hates being loved. I helped a buddy brew up 15 gallons of an oatmeal stout and 50 gallons of a german alt about 6 weeks ago. He's got a nice little brew shop going. I was just talking to the guy I know with the brew shop and it turns out he was the one that got your neighbor into brewing Brewer. What a small world.
