Absolutely AWESOME!

There are too many good photos in there to comment on any particular ones but, in general, the fact that you were able to capture so many of those fish in the air is an impressive accomplishment.

Well done to both of you guys!

Damn, I'd like to fish there...

Is it just me or is Dave very photogenic? Kinda like Rowan that way. Ryley has definitely raised the bar around here for digital photography.....what was your total picture count out of curiosity?

If it was me, I'd have a chunk of my spare tire hangin out over my belt and my pants unzipped.

Thanks for the compliments on my work, & it's fair to point out that it isnt all mine. As you can tell, Dave was behind the shutter on alot of these photographs, and he's no slouch with a camera.

NoFish- Between us I archived 1200+ images on a 380gb portable drive connectable to my laptop. Many are frames are on either side of some of the pictures you see here, and alot of scenics, shots in town, the casino. Many will be deleted, I think Daves already narrowed his copies down, i just havent gotten to it yet.

I can't explain how challenging these fish are any better than the pictures can. They do inverted rolling cartwheels away from you, long hard runs, sound down 30 to the bottom of the river, crash up into mangroves. Intense gamefish that yield no guarantee's on anything except a fun time.

I had a six or so foot tarpon on for about 3 seconds once. He hit my lure as I was taking it out of the water to recast. His head was 12 inches from my rod tip. Fear or something was the only reason I held onto the rod. Mid-flight that line broke.

Nothing like what you guys experienced but it gives me an idea.

Did you get the "Bow to the king" thing down when the tarpon jumped Ryley?

AWESOME post and pictorial! I am supremely jealous!

Mark-

I missed a few bows that cost me a fish or two. Tarpon jump so quickly sometimes you don't have time to react, or you forget. Or they jump and you bow, then lift, and they are already airborne again. Once you get in the rhythm of bowing like your'e in a mosque everytime they jump, it really helps keep the fish hooked. Keeping the rod low throughout the fight proved to be the best method.

Fun Stuff, you'd have a blast chasing these fish..
