Well, so I promised Corey that'd I'd give her the first springer I caught this year. I was hoping that'd give me good luck for the rest of the season. I thought I'd be giving her a 12 pounder or something like that though. Bob said she was gonna hold me to it. So oh well, guess I'll have to hit them up for some dinners. So were pulling K-11's hitting most the decent holes hoping to get either a fresh steelie or bump into a nice eating springer on our second favorite OP river. Missed a take down. Caught a down river almost re-bright. Action was a bit slower than the other day. There's this one hole though that Brett Lowe showed me last year where the possibility of getting mr. springer is a good option. We put 'em out, the mighty K-11's are doing there dancing thing when the right one goes steady but hard down...then back up, but not all the way up, then just burries. The rod was buckled but not too much line peeling, we realize the drag was still set super tight from Phil the other day so we loosened it up a bit, and the fight was on, luckily before the thing busted off with that super tight drag. It made though quick nasty power springer runs, half splashed once or twice. We saw it was a nice fish but not sure exactly how nice. After a couple more solid runs, with one of them going upriver from us we realized we'd better find a better spot to get the thing in. Just down river a bit was a nice gravel bar with fairly deep water next to it, it was perfect spot. We fought the fish while heading slowly there. It was getting me re-excited for fall kings. I grabbed the net that I didn't forget this time, and after getting her in realized it was an excellent specimen. A big ol' hen. Perfect. I was already thinking about the juicy barb-b-q's I was gonna be having when I realized who the fish was going to....Corey. Oh well, it's worth it as I've learned so much from her hubby and she's put up with me. But, at least we got the killer take down and fight out of her. So we knew it was big. But didn't realize just how big it was. We put her on the scale and she tipped at 32#! Holy crap. What a fish. Awesome since most we catch there aren't even close to this big, plus I thought I'd get to eat a little of it at the mighty Ball's house. Totally cool. Then I thought... which doesn't happen often.. but I thought I better get some good pics cuz I couldn't wait to post it on the internet and show English Pete what kind of a 32# fish you should be bonking. Here is the pic. HA! HAHAHAHA!.......that is Lovetofish365 or something like that style. Sorry. Kinda. Yeah, this entire story was a made up joke, but hey, it was good while it lasted.

Why is that springer "clipped"? They don't clip those fish.
Nice Photoshop job on that fish. I'm not buying it. You used Photoshop to clip off that adipose fin.

Yeah, that's the really cool part about the RVFSHR pontoon boat anchor, ya pull some extra line off once the fish is beached, and use the anchor to English Pete (bonk) your fish. Any RVFSHR product with a dual use is always good.
I'm hoping to English Pete a couple real springers next week.
