STFU seems to express feelings of mutual respect and admiration for your fellow fisherman.
I heard this term used liberally the other day at steelhead camp.
It was followed with lot's of hugging and high fives.

Oh, and PAR'ing is always more than just paying for your share of the trip cost. True PAR'ing also involves bringing all the *correct* gear, top quality bait(s), pre-tied leaders and terminal tackle, and having enough fishing/boating/rowing knowledge and skills not to be a useless wet soggy:



PS: One must *expect* copious quantities of crap to be flung there way from their fellow boat and board mates once they have PAR'd. It comes with the PAR-territory.

If I remember correctly, one must know when to decline/retract your PAR when it has been accepted. Maybe you just PAR it and hope for the best? When in doubt, what is the best way to gracefully decline/retract your accepted PAR?

If you PAR, then you cannot afford to be choosy. So once you PAR, there is no going back, no decline, no retraction. You go, and hope for the best. After all, you're PAR.
