The 60's version of Dick Cheney, Robert McNamara, died today...McNamara was the architect of the U.S.'s involvement in the Vietnam War, which lead to the death of nearly 60,000 American soldiers, and nothing good whatsoever to show for it.

Unlike Cheney, however, he later admitted that he was terribly wrong in his assessment of what the U.S. involvement in Vietnam should be, and said he would not have done it if given the chance to try again...

Maybe a future Cheney will nut up and admit what a fiasco he caused, too, but somehow I doubt it.

I agree with salmosalar about the movie. It is a must see and, to me, was both enlightening and sickening.

I was going for the "his daughter is gay" angle - at least by coming out publicly, she displayed more balls than he ever did.

when McNamara was discussing the firebombing of the Japanese people with Curtis Lamay, Lamay said "if we lose the war, we'll be war criminals." pretty much sums it up even when you are on the side of good.
