Were taking the Kids ( Boy-17 Girl-14 ) there this X-MAS during winter break. Just looking for some tips on where to stay ? It seems there are no bargains this time of the year..just looking for something close to the theme parks, looking online is a little overwelming. Thanks

Look for timeshare offers...there are a bunch down there. They will offer you a hell of a deal on a stay if you take there half day sales pitch thing. Just keep in mind you are going to tell them NO. Its hard to do with their pushy sales people but if you tell them no enough they give up and move on to the more gulable types.

We stayed at a place close to the park (cant remember the name), 3 bedrooms, two bath, kitchen, and living area with hidabed. Gated security four or five pools, ponds with fish in them, frickin top notch. The price they give is comparable to hotels in the area but they want you to take their half day sales pitch to buy a timeshare. Just tellem NO and thanks for the deal.

Silver Lakes Resort is at the back entrance to the Disney highway and real close to Animal Kingdom. The rooms are spacious and the pool is huge.
www.tug2.net has many orlando condo's for rent for less than a motel. Look in the market place at tug in the orlando rental section.

We used a website called tourguidemike.com to plan our disney intinery. Im very glad we did. This online guide cost about $20.00 but will help you get the most out of Disney.

We took our kids and grandkids over thanksgiving when Disney is very crowded and the guide help us zig when the crowd eould zag.

We stayed here for ten days last summer. Very large rooms with a full kitchen, Full size refer, stove, Granite countertops and a washer/dryer. We had a 1Br suite (about 1000 sq ft) but there are two br suites that are like 1200 sq ft +. They also have a very nice pool and do a dive in theater twice a week. They bring out one of those 40' inflatable movie screens, pretty cool. It's right between Disney world and Sea World and right next to the Hotel is a huge outlet mall that my wife and daughter loved.

We really liked the place and ended up going to Disney every other day rather than eveyday and we were in one of the new towers. We were there in June so it was just too damn hot and crowded. It was a lot of fun but if that's the Happiest place on Earth then put a bullet in my head now!

Trip advisor ranks it 22 out og 390 hotels in Orlando. LINK

The most entertaining thing to do at Orlando is to tell the other tourons that the beach is "right over there". Sea World confuses the hell out of people.
