For the 4th time since we started building our house we have had an unwelcome visitor (UWV).

UWV #1 was a local tweaker last August. Saw him at the grocery store a week later, told him we had photos of him on our property at 11pm, and that he would be arrested for trespassing, and a few more threats, if he ever was caught on our cameras again. The thought of having his body spread across 5 counties kept him from returning.

UWV #2 was a guy named Korey Knighth, 50+ interactions with the court system. I'm sure he was trying to turn his life around when he was run off the road by the WSP and captured after a short foot chase across our property in February.

UWV #3 was Korey's dad, about 1.5 months later, looking for whatever Korey had thrown during the foot chase. A confrontation with me let him know that as a former deputy, I was not pleased with his presence on our property. These guys live in the 300 block of Arcadia Ave in Shelton, or one of the local jails, depending on which month it is.

UWV #4 caught me off guard. My security camera batteries had run down, and my father in law took down his cameras to clean them and install new batteries on Sunday. Well last night they show up. Didn't get anyone on film. Dammit! Got lucky. All I lost was a 100' 12ga extension cord and a 25' 12ga extension cord. Everything else was locked up. Figured that out after I got home from work tonight.

Cameras have fresh batteries, and instead of looping the chain over the fence post, I have securely locked the chain.

Hopefully they don't come back, but if they do they'll get their photo taken while they mess with the gate.

I'm also going to head out there at odd times of the evening, like in a few minutes, and then 2am, and 4am, etc.

No sleep for me for the next few nights, unless someone wants to camp out in our new home. Free beer, and excellent digs.

I hate thieves.

Fun times! I got in some target practice today for the 1st time in a couple years. Got my AK sighted in and put 50 rounds through my .45LC before the sun set and we had to pack it in. Sitting on a porch with my nightvision, a full 30 round mag, and a sixxer sounds like a good way to spend a summer night.

No bites last night at 2:30 or 4:30.

Looks like I'll get to sleep in the new house until we are done. Oh well, I'll get to see my family soon. Lots of homes get hit after they load it up with appliances prior to moving in.

Ain't gonna happen at my house. (I hope)

Free loaders, leeches, thieves, and liars.....mmmm, my favorites. The world would be a better place if all the "Yomee's" were just "not around".

Yomee....aka....you owe me. smile

Just think...if everyone was honest, you could throw all your keys away.

Dogfish,

I been thinking maybe you should take that backhoe and dig a really deep "pre-emptive" pit out in some Mason County bog. You know, a place to put the bodies that no one will miss. I specify Mason because Commissioner Sheldon made those remarks about Mason Co. residents being well armed and knowing how to take care of business, in a security sort of sense. I wouldn't expect Mason Co. sheriff's dept. to go looking for bodies they really don't want to find anyway.

I've had no more issues at my place since I stapled the cardboard "Good luck A--hole sign back up after the miscreant ripped a grid off my garage window the night before our security system was installed. I don't have phone service installed yet, so no autodialer, just the alarm siren. I never did get any useful pics with my trail camera. I think more deer walk thru the yard than tweakers anyway. But we're thinking of getting that 4-video cam set that Costco sells. If I ever get a pic of "mikey" on my property, that little turd is dead. My daughter told me I'll get in trouble if I do that. But I told her you have a backhoe and can dig a really deep pit.

Stlhead,

No point in radio collaring these types. They'll just wear the radio collar as they go about their usual and accustomed tweaking. They have no other pattern. Nothing stops them. Nothing, except what I think of as "terminal justice."

12 ga and .40 is the really fun choice. Get'em in close with a shiny trinket and then..... Kinda like fishing with spoons or spinners......:)

Yeah, I was actually thinking of leaving something like my portable table saw out in front of the garage door over night - - - while I sat inside the house with a shotgun. I don't practice like Dogfish, and might miss with a handgun. Then my daughter tried to tell me I couldn't still hunt tweakers from a blind and over bait. Now just where is that in the regs?

I hope you catch those POS thieves, Dogfish. You'd be doing us all a service.

Sorry you have to worry about such things though. Sometimes, the world sucks.

Just wait until the zombie invasion. Tweakers and the homeless will the first to become zombies. Once that happens, no one will care what you do to them as their is currently no bag limit on zombies.

I thought we could hunt them like they hunt deer in the mid west. Salt licks, cultivated fields of grasses and the likes then sit in a tree stand until one comes along. Sounds like a fun night of spot lighting. No bag limit, tags not required....

Parker,

I'm concerned about waiting. I may run out of tools and other good things to steal while waiting for the zombie invasion. Why not just shoot tweakers; they be the ones a stealin'.

It might be interesting to have an "endangered species" that would be popular.

Do we need to call in the State to manage the harvest? That should make short work of it.

I haven't checked the regs recently on that, but I think it's still illegal to harvest any tweaker, big deep hole or not.

I think you should get some flashbang stun grenades and have fun with those first before you take any other action.

Take pics please....

I was thinking if we radio collared them then I could make a mint selling home tracking devices. They would work like an alarm clock and the deluxe model would blow them up.....beep......beep........beep beep.....beep beep beep.....BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP....BLAM!!!

Salmo, you need a hog pen. Hogs are pretty good at disposing of bodies.

No shotgun, or a puny .40 S&W. Strictly firepower, as I'll have one of my large caliber AR-15's and my .45acp.

Off to Radio Shack for a few toys.
