Can I find some places on the web to check out the value of my boat? Anyone have an idea what it's worth?

I have a fully loaded 1992 18' Olympic hardtop w/ oversized Easy Loader roller trailer with the following accessories;

Interphase Star Pilot 6 GPS
Interphase 500w dual freq w/ temp-speed FF
Uniden CB
Raytheon Marine VXL5150 VHF
AM-FM stereo w/ marine speakers
lighted compass
2- 8' whip antennas for CB and VHF
1- 3' AM/FM antenna
2 marine deep cycle dry cell batteries, new last year
1 additional battery for accessories(105 amp hour)
2 Canon electric downriggers wired directly to each dry cell battery
Powered by a 100 hp oil injected Suzuki V-4 w/ power trim-tilt from helm with an instrument cluster on dash
6 hp Suzuki 4 stroke kicker
It has a brand new steering cable and helm/wheel.

It's in excellent condition, stored inside of my garage for the last 7 years (when not in use), under canvas cover before that. This boat is a salmon slayer and has been treated well.

Seacat,
I haven't looked at your particular boat, but the NADA website allows you to get a general idea on the value of the boat and the engines.

I checked with my resources. They will give you $87.50 for it and another $8 for the garage it was stored in. slap

This last summer I looked at a '95 Olympic Evolution with a 90 horse Evinrude on it. The boat was mint, very well outfitted. $9k. I also talked to C-Dory, who now owns the molds, they're in Kent. They had a new boat with a 130 Horse Honda four stroke, well outfitted for $18k. I would take the boat to them and ask. Olympics tend to hold their value very well.

Thanks for the reply Kyle. Was that 18K boat a hardtop or the runabout? Seems like a pretty good deal if it was the hardtop. The last boat show I went to a few years ago as I recall, the hardtop with a low end motor was over 20K.

I checked the NADA website and it looks like I could expect 10-12K for a striipped down setup similar to what I have. Yes, they apparently do hold thier value pretty well, as do alot of quality built boats, but I knew that when I bought it. laugh

WRT to the "new" Olympic with a 130 HP Honda selling for $18k, that sounds "fishy". A new Honda 130 alone is something like $12k, that doesn't leave much room for a hull and fittings, or trailer.

I'm not doubting the story, just saying that this would be a helluva deal.

Regards.

The $18k Olympic was not a hard top, it was a runabout. The gentlemen I talked to at C-Dory appeared to have little knowledge of what the boat was. It was the only hull C-Dory got when they bought the molds from Olympic??. He seemed very eager to set the boat up any way I wanted for that price, including ski tower and extras. He was trying to beat the price on a Double Eagle I was looking at. I never followed up, he never called back. Call C-dory and ask who handles the Olympics. I want to say his name was Carlos?? The only catch was he wanted the boat back for two weeks during the Tacoma and Seattle boat shows so he could show it since it was their only hull.

I bought a 1990 24' Olympic last spring and had a heck of a time finding out any real info. I finally ended up talking to the owner of Skagit marine, who claimed to be the "owner" of Olympic boats. He said that he bought the hull designs a couple years ago, but hadn't found anyone willing to build any new boats for him. He was negotiating with C-Dory, amoungst others.

Last time I passed thru Mt. Vernon, Skagit Marine was out of business. Let me know if you find out who can give you a realistic $$ for your boat.
