Would this be a problem if no one got on the boat without donating to Breast cancer research, the homeless or the Boy Scouts. Are these the same people that don't want hatchery fish in the gravel with wild fish and claim there is no way sport fishing can be used for management. Then dams the CCA for spending money on research that will allow the cowboys to catch more hatchery fish with less impact on wild fish. Hell The NRA pisses the hell out of me but who else is going to effectively stand up for a few of the things that I feel must be protected. None of us have the rite to fish with Frances. He is the only one that can give out that rite. Ya know come to think of it I don't like the way this state and country is spending some of my tax money. hows the steel heading in France??? If ya want to be part of TEAM Eye fish join CCA If ya don't want to be part of CCA you can still wave to them from another boat. If you feel ripped off because you worked for the same things Frances works for and that he now owes you a spot at the front of the waiting line to get on his boat ya may have done it for the wrong reason. FUK I hate Politics. In the end it all comes down to money and the smallest group that has a chance at the largest chunk of the power and money will win. Unless the two happen to line up I fear all our good intentions and principles in the end wont add up to [censored]. I still hope not. Not a CCA member yet but soon will be. Tight lines everyone...Art

Art, Francis doesn't owe me anything, and he never has. We fish(ed) together because we share common ideals about fish and fishing, and we enjoy fishing together.
I haven't said once in this post that he hasn't the right to do whatever he wants with his boat, or how to choose his fishing partners...but that doesn't change the fact that not only will I not sell out my convictions to fish with him, but this childish move has made me even less likely to ever join the CCA...
"No", I'm not in.
Fish on...
Todd

None of this affects my friendship with Fancis, nor will it affect our constant and regular phone calls about what's going on in the fishing politics world...but it will clearly affect our fishing time together, which apparently might end, for the most part, and that kinda sucks.
Not my choice.
Fish on...
Todd

..but I am feeling a bit bummed about the lack of appreciation for my personal time and money that I spent going to Olympia with Francis to fight for Grays Harbor fish and our sportfisheries there...I hope he remembers that while I'm not fishing with him next week.
Managed to get there all on my own, write testimony, and deliver it fairly effectively...all without being a CCA member.
Strange, but true.
Fish on...
Todd
Todd, I don't think Doc or anybody else does not appreciate the things you do and have done fighting for fish and sportfishing anywhere. Most of the complainers who throw their opinions around like a novice spey caster have never set foot in a NOF or commission meeting and don't really have a clue. I for one am willing to check my ego at the door and listen, hoping to hear something useful.

Puff, puff, pass...................... You kidding Doc? I don't care if CCA was free, I still wouldn't join.. Although CCA has "some" decent intentions, the end results aren't what sportfisherman will want..... Sad but true..... If you're a CCA member, you "CAN'T" fish out of my boat....... Sorry Parker Keith

i personaly wont let any cca members on my boat, i figure that anyone who would want to give the commercial fisherman more fish and screw up sportfishing cant be the smartest cookie in the cookie jar. Can someone elaborate on this? Howabout a pro/con in layman's terms? As a newb to the CCA discussion, please explain how this conservation organization can be pro commercial?

"If" the commercials can be more selective, they'll get to harvest more hatchery fish.... Currently they're working on a study with seine netting, which of course has a extremely minimal mortality rate or at least common sense would say so... There's only so many hatchery fish to go around.... Keith

In that sense, it doesn't seem like a bad thing. maybe I am misunderstanding something..???

Sooooooooooooo, if Todd went to those meetings for the "wrong reasons" what does that say about you joining CCA now that you HAVE to in order to fish with Doc? This entire thread is pretty pathetic IMHO. You were pretty quiet when you were at Doc's house last weekend.
