Effective immediately.....
CCA membership is mandatory for every angler in my vessel.
Don't plan on stepping aboard without presenting a current membership card or a credit card receipt or cancelled check.
No exceptions.

CCA members who own/operate fishing boats....
I encourage each and every one of you to adopt this boat policy to help the organization grow its membership. Here's a golden opportunity for you to educate your buddies about CCA's critical role on reforming PNW fisheries management each and every time you venture out onto the water.

Francis.....
Are you drinking again???
Just kidding, however, it may come on a little strong....IMO
Organizations should be able to build membership through good communications, a strong organizational structure and a clearly stated message / purpose.
They shouldn't have to rely on "Parlor Tricks".......Just my opinion of course
I consider you a friend and have alot of respect for you but I guess fishing with you is currently not possible.

You think Francis was brainwashed into "parlor tricking" people into joining? AYFKM? If you don't like it fine, but that doesn't make somebody else wrong.

Interesting concept there, Doc. I don't think there is anyone who has promoted and shared good fishing behaviors and techniques more than you, so there can be no argument as to where your intentions lie. I have a tough time picturing, however, you "carding" passengers, and an even tougher time picturing you saying, "Sorry, you can't go." But I still like the idea.

I must correct my mistake--I joined PSA not CCA and haven't heard a thing. Sorry CCA---now how do I join.

You'll need a new deckhand when you fish with your old guys and doctor friends, I guess. I'm sure I'll have no trouble finding another boat to fish off of...does this mean I can't still stay at your house? Fish on... Todd

Another thought on this...
Anyone who would sell out their convictions to go fishing with someone ought to really consider what their convictions are, and why they have them.
If these are Doc's convictions, that he won't fish with a non-CCA member in his boat, then as ridiculous as I think that is, well, it's up to him...it's his boat.
I wouldn't sell out my convictions to go fishing with anyone, anywhere, any time...and anyone who would may as well not have any convictions at all.
Fish on...
Todd
