i personaly wont let any cca members on my boat, i figure that anyone who would want to give the commercial fisherman more fish and screw up sportfishing cant be the smartest cookie in the cookie jar.

Wait just a damn second Boater. I don't agree with probably half of CCA's positions, but I still think CCA is one of the most viable mechanisms for constructive changes to fisheries management. I didn't see the Legislature taking notice of you this last session, but most all of 'em now know who CCA is and what its interests are.

I know that CCA's prime spokesman is wrong on about half of everything he says. But he's organized 10,000 members in two years, which is about 10,000 more than you or I have, and I respect what that can do. Your interests and abilities would be an asset to CCA. CCA is the vehicle. It could use more smart cookies to help steer it more productively. Think about it.

And I wasn't lookin' for a ride in your boat.

Todd,
You can have a seat in my boat, but you'll need to sit down "Not stand" and shut up "Be quit".If that works for ya then you may have a spot on the 10th.Good luck,

SZ, that's puttin' Todd between a rock and a hard place what with your "be quiet" rule. Todd talks more than the ship's captain, and then some. Very entertaining. I would think you'd not want to miss it.

CCA is the vehicle, a very good point. you can view CCA as a bus. it may not be the best mode of transportation for your needs. however it will get you further when all the "other" failed vehicles over the years have clunked out miserably.

Brewer needs no ride on a boat, i do much better from shore.

call me a tool, call me whatever you want if it makes you feel good, i`m actually more worried about trying to keep some good sportfishing in this state alot more than i am about your childish banter.

worrying never added a day to anyone's lives. On the other hand, being proactive has. So, either do something to help the change or just sit there and beat the Fvck out of your keyboard all day.

your idea of an opportunity would be to open lake washington for sockeye fishing in december when there are no fish there, my idea for opportunity would be to open lake washington for sockeye in july when the fish are actualy there, in other words, opportunity means absolutely nothing if there are no fish to catch and that is where we are headed, seriously, if the commercials do come up with a new method to cull hatchery fish out of a river like the cowlitz, doesn't anybody here other than a few of us think that will effect sportfishing ??

I'm confused...did Todd (one of CCA's biggest critics in the past) JOIN CCA?

Aunty,

I don't think you'll find any correlation between recreational fishing opportunity and WDFW's need to pay staff salaries. To the extent there is a relationship, there is an inverse trend. Opportunity (in the meaningful sense) has declined over time, while the department, its staff, and salaries have grown.

do you realy think that if the columbia goes to fall selective chinook fishing thats its going to grow more money for the wdfw ??, who in there right mind would want to take a vacation down there and fish for chinook when the vast majority of clipped chinook are tules ?

The times are changing and it's about damned time. That's the way things happened in Florida and Texas too. Could be why the commercial apologists are trying to make such a ruckus.

laugh

That's hilarious that the "commercial apologists" are the ones fighting against additional commercial fishing opportunity to protect recreational fishing, and the "smart ones" are fighting for the efficacy of an improved commercial fishery that will take opportunity away from sportfishers...

This "commercial apologist" wants to stop pussyfooting around and get the commercial industry out of freshwater areas altogether, not provide them with a way to catch more fish downstream from us.

Fish on...

Todd

P.S. Your "chicken little" comments show just how utterly ignorant you are about how the LCR fisheries are crafted...but I'll give you credit, you're making up for it by yelling the loudest.

I'm in Doc.

Commercial hunting was banned decades ago.
It was a vile practice that decimated game populations.
It's time commercial fishing goes away as well.
Anyone watch "Swords"?
Disgusting.
